Christmas films for all the family?

I need a few films that are appropriate for families! I don't want there to be any sexy lingerie scenes so obviously no bare arses or tits either. Just wholesome, funny, maybe somewhat heart warming Christmas films that are okay for a family of all ages!

Home alone is on the list, I think that one is fine. Any of you lovely ladies have any ideas? Xmas Smile

I would suggest Elf, but there is a scene where Buddy buys his long lost dad some sexy lingerie. But it’s a play on his innocence and naivety, no one wears it.

Muppet Xmas carol is popular in our home too.

Get santa
Arthur christmas
Jingle all the way
The santa claus
Santander clause the movie

I love Xmas films! I don't want sexy lingerie in them either.

FilthyAnimalWithoutTheFilth · 15/12/2021 03:25

I will have to look into all of these!

It's just so awkward when you're sat watching a Christmas film with the 9 year old nephew and there's a woman in a red, lacy thing paired with a santa hat trying to turn on the hubby or something! Why oh why do movie producers think that's what ANYONE wants or needs!?

Oh there are loads that don't involve any sexy lingerie etc. Before recommending any, can you confirm the ages of all the children watching as even though they're not 'sexy' movies some may be boring for young children Smile

Crikeycroc · 15/12/2021 03:48

National Lampoons Christmas Vacation is absolutely glorious. I couldn't recommend it more highly.

There could be a 3 year old but he is probably gonna go down after the first. We will probably do something Disney related for his sake first. So we would have a 9 year old, an 11 year old and a 12 year old. The rest of us are 15 and above, so no real worries regarding anything "sexy" but honestly, even if we were all middle aged, I just don't want it!

Definite lingerie scenes in that, though I agree it's one of my favourite Christmas films.

A Boy called Christmas (new one on Sky)
The Christmas chronicles and No. 2 (Netflix)
Jingle Jangle (Netflix & it's a musical)
Get Santa
Home Alone
Fred Claus
Arthur Christmas
Elf
Disney's Christmas Carol
The Santa Clause 1,2 & 3
A Wonderful Life (black & white & fairly old but fab)
The Polar Express
Santa Claus the Movie (the one with Dudley Moore, my personal favourite to watch every Christmas Eve)
Enjoy Smile

Christmas with the Kranks

MrsLuicifer · 15/12/2021 04:33

@20viona

Christmas with the Kranks
Love this one, I've found it doesn't go down very well with children though, but Christmas films are not for children Wink
Agadorsparticus · 15/12/2021 04:47

The Christmas Chronicles and Elf.

spotsbeforetheeyes · 15/12/2021 04:49

We have both teens and under tens. We all enjoyed Klaus, an animated movie on Netflix. It was nicely done.

coodawoodashooda · 15/12/2021 05:01

Polar Express

Whatiswrongwithmyknee · 15/12/2021 07:27

Ooh I'd forgotten polar express. Ots a beautiful film especially for the younger ones. I'd put that high up your list

stayathomer · 15/12/2021 07:31

Nativity for a kind of Christmas craziness, we love deck the halls but there's a lot that goes on the wife and kids being really gorgeous so probably stay away! Fred Clause, Noelle and Rise of the guardians! Enjoy!

stayathomer · 15/12/2021 07:32

Ooh funny so many people love polar Express, I've always found it so creepy and was relievedthe kids didn't like it!!!

CookieDoughKid · 15/12/2021 07:33

Click and collect on me Netflix!

Heruka · 15/12/2021 07:34

We enjoyed nativity recently, 3 yr old was a bit bored though.

NinaProudman2022 · 15/12/2021 07:35

Mrs Miracle
Miracle on 34 Street
Nativity

Bellafrenum · 15/12/2021 07:47

Christmas Chronicles 1 &2

We really enjoyed Home Alone recently.

ImALittlePea · 15/12/2021 07:51

Polar Express
Angela's Christmas (1&2) on Netflix - short films so perfect for little ones, so peaceful and melodic. My now 7yo adores them (as do I!)
Nativity
Home alone

Hoping I get to watch all of these recommendations this year myself!

HunterGatherer · 15/12/2021 07:59

Completely agree with this, it was like watching a weird 1970s soviet propaganda video. Awful film.
Fooshufflewickjbannanapants · 15/12/2021 08:03

Muppets Christmas carol obvs!!

alwaystakethetrip · 15/12/2021 08:07

Definitely DON'T watch Bad Santa 🎅

FilthyAnimalWithoutTheFilth · 15/12/2021 16:10

Thanks for all your suggestions, ladies! I will be spending some time looking at parent guides etc. to make sure they are all child and easily embarrassed aunt-friendly! Xmas Grin
