My best mate has once again proven herself to be just exceptionally outstanding. We don't usually do gifts but I want to show her just how much I appreciate her and everything she has done for me and my son over the years.

Any amazing last minute ideas? She loves bees and painting!

What sort of painting? If it’s watercolour, Fabriano artistico paper is a dream and really indulgent so I rarely buy it for myself.

Bee friendly seeds for the garden if she has one? They loved the borage and Nigella we grew last summer.

Not at all bee related but I just bought a set of perfumes from penhaligonsnfor my best friend because she's been similarly amazing and I wanted to treat her. I thought she could try the different scents and if there was one she particularly liked I could buy a bigger bottle of it next year. There are 5 perfumes all in tiny little glass bottles and they look just beautiful- a really old fashioned pretty set.

Anyway. Just if that's in any way useful.

I bought my lovely friend a diffuser and some relaxing aromatherapy oils recently. She is a GP and has worked so hard and had developed awful insomnia.

She uses it every evening.

I'm also making a special effort for my best mate this year as she's been amazing.

How long have you known yours? We met on the first day of primary school and are now in our mid forties. Music has always been a huge part of our friendship so I'm getting her a personalised key chain from Etsy with a Spotify code that will take her to a playlist of 'our tunes' from the last 40+ years .

She'll have some other bits as well...and is joining us for Christmas Day which will be lovely.

I bought my mum a box of bumble bees once, amazing!!!! Am they all came to life and buzzed around in and out of the box and around her garden for weeks. Very soecial
