Present for Mum 15 quid

We do cheap presents in our family which makes everything more affordable! Any ideas in this bracket? She asked for paint by numbers although my dad is getting her that (which she's chosen 🙄) so I don't really want to get the same thing OR one which she doesn't really like. She loves flowers. She's diabetic but enjoys savory treats. But really I'm after any great ideas I haven't thought of which you've got your Mums?

Does she read op? Pile of books from a charity shop would make me smile!!

Fendidntdrake · 13/12/2021 22:53

A storm glass from amazon?

DollyPartBaked · 13/12/2021 23:11

A nice from lush and a book!

Mammma91 · 13/12/2021 23:27

I got my mum a £14 personalised chopping board from Etsy this year.
I know she’ll love it.

MerryMarigold · 14/12/2021 05:43

Thanks so much for ideas. She sent me a link to a paint by numbers but it doesn't arrive till March 🙄. About to search storm glass.

@Santahatesbraisedcabbage I asked my Mum for a pile of books from the charity shop one Christmas and was so excited! Xmas Grin

A nice throw. You can get nice ones at that price from B&M.
I like the ones with ‘sheepskin’ on one side.

Turtletotem · 14/12/2021 06:25

How about a diamond dots picture? Similar to what she's asked for.

updownroundandround · 14/12/2021 06:26

I'd look on Photobox and make her a photo calendar (they're cheap right now ) and also get her another paint by numbers that's similar to the one she's keen on maybe ? Or a nice scarf ?

Driposaurus · 14/12/2021 06:29

I’ve bought my mum one of those crafting magazines - it was about a tenner, has stamps/paper/ideas in it…

I would get her the paint by numbers she sent you the link for. I'd much rather have something I want and wait for it than something I don't really need and is going to clutter the place up. she'll have finished the one from your Dad by March and will be ready for the next one. You could make a voucher for it, and if it's not your full budget, buy her a little something to go with it to open on Christmas Day.
vickibee · 14/12/2021 07:06

A personalised gin or wine glass with a bottle of plonk, if she drinks of course

MerryMarigold · 14/12/2021 16:32

My dad's one has same delivery date (!) so she won't be getting a present from him at Christmas. Basically she will then be 2 presents 'down'. I will try and look for something in a similar style: it's quite a particular style and clearly the same supplier as same delivery date window.

Also photo cakendar is a good idea if I can get it delivered in time now.

What about bulbs in a nice pot for in the house. I like flowers and love these. There is lots of choice in supermarkets, M&S etc. Lots, even v nice ones, are only £5, so you could buy a few. I like amaryllis and hyacinths particularly but there are others to choose from.

Daisy38 · 14/12/2021 18:17

Lots of supermarkets have lovely planters in for around £15 at the moment. Asda had some beautiful ones recently and we got a lovely one for a relative in M&S.

MamaWeasel · 14/12/2021 18:31

A lovely salt lamp

ThisMustBeMyDream · 14/12/2021 18:35

If you're a costco member, they have some amazing throws for £15 - look at the brand life comfort. I got gifted one 6 years ago and it was my most loved gift (as a 31 year old Grin). I went yesterday and bought a replacement (not as soft as it once was, but still lovely!) after googling the brand and where to get it from. Luckily I was a costco member. I got one for me, and one for my mum!
The other place for good ideas is etsy. It's my mums birthday on Sunday, and I got her a glass tealight thingy, she loves glass type ornaments and trinkets. There were lots of other nice gifts for a similar price range too.

ThisMustBeMyDream · 14/12/2021 18:36

I was gifted* Blush

CCSS15 · 14/12/2021 19:29

Have a look in the sale bit of one hundred stars - there's so lovely stuff there

MerryMarigold · 14/12/2021 21:05

Thanks everyone. I really appreciate all the helpful thoughts. 🙏

If you could stretch to £19 you could get Turtle Doves cashmere fingerless gloves

Thomasina79 · 15/12/2021 06:43

Sainsbury do a set of three little planted bulbs, I forget which flower. The little glasses they are planted in could be turned into glasses for drinks when the bulbs have had their season. (And the bulbs can be replanted outside eventually). They are only around a fiver.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 15/12/2021 07:45

probably hyacinth

HunterGatherer · 15/12/2021 07:55

Windsor and Newton, cotman range, mini watercolour set. Its £12 on Amazon and its all my illustrator friend uses. Amazing value and you might have enough left over for a watercolour paper pad.
