These will probably be in any starter kit but you didn't mention them in your OP: Primer, Base and Top Coat, and a Lamp. Good nail files for removal and a nail buffer for prep. Gel residue wipe off solution.

For removing you can get little clips that hold acetone soaked cotton balls in place which makes it a lot easier than foil wraps, mine are from poundland but I think superdrug etc do them as well.

I use a USB powerbank with my lamp so I don't have to do my nails near a plug socket, the lamp is UV so it uses hardly any power.

A good case to keep everything in is useful as well, something that will hold all the polishes upright and out of direct light.

I got a gel nails kit from Boots a year or so ago. It contained everything needed including four nail colours. I think it was by the brand Sensationail

I have a starters set a few years ago and loved it, but then I developed an allergy to some part of it and can no longer have gel nails at all.
Dr said it was probably over exposure to the stuff as I was doing the gels every 2 weeks. Just a word of warning

Google Aldi gel nail kit. Available online only.

Has everything you need for 29.99 including the uv light.

I have It and it’s really good

I have the Mylee lamp and I’m very happy with it. I use Beetles gel polish. It’s probably not the best quality but you get loads and loads of different colours in a set and they last about a week. That’s plenty for me as my nails grow very quickly and I’m ready for a change by then anyway.

Also a cuticle pusher. There are lots of videos on YouTube by professional nail technicians ie The Nail Hub the most important thing is not to damage the cuticle when prepping the nail for application or damaging the nail bed when removing.

I have had professional nail services for years then started doing my own about 20 years ago, anything from acrylics to gel polish to gel extensions.

Thin layers is the key to gel polish and allowing the right amount of time to cure the gel. I am sure she will be delighted with a nail kit. I use Mylee prep and wipe stuff, also their lint free pads. I have the clippy things that hold the acetone soaked cotton wool on the nails also a soaking bowl with a warm water bit underneath.
