If you were doing your own stocking, and had a budget of around £50 all in, what would you put in it?

I do my own stocking every year 🥲😂🤣. This year I’ve put an apple air tag and key ring in it. Some shower steamers from Etsy, a book, yoga socks and the compulsory Terry’s chocolate orange.

nellyburt · 15/12/2021 07:07

I’d go to tk maxx and buy a lovely notebook, a lipgloss/ lip salve, maybe a scarf/ purse then some chocolates and a nice mug.

UsernameInTheTown · 15/12/2021 07:14

A good book
A Revolution avocado eyeshadow pallette
Painting supplies (and the time to use them!)
Hanging plant
Macrame plant holder kit
Silk hair bobbles
Pure wool nordic style cardigan (Ebay)
Night vision glasses (kids ones, just for cargo train and owl spotting!)
Dave Spud annual and book
No shame here in self care and I firmly believe in modelling respectful and loving behaviour towards me for DD7 to learn from if I want to be cherished.

SantaMonicaPier · 15/12/2021 07:20

I would put in:

  • Dead Sea face mask
  • mini bottle of pink Prosecco
  • nice socks
  • special chocolates
  • hand cream.
Whatwouldnanado · 15/12/2021 07:45

Chocolate Brazil nuts
Two or three paperbacks from the charity shop
Hand cream
Lense wipes
Sweet pea seeds (always plant loads at New Year)
Magazine
Lip balm
Chocolate orange
Socks.

actiongirl1978 · 15/12/2021 07:49

My stocking will hopefully contain:

Chococo 80% chocolate buttons
Clarins shower gel (the yellow or blue one)
Some rose gold hoop earrings

felulageller · 15/12/2021 08:13

I've already done my own. Nice beauty products, nice chocs, candle, notebook, nice pens.

Redwinestillfine · 15/12/2021 08:15

Cashmere socks/ gloves, lip gloss, a book, toblerone

User00000000 · 15/12/2021 08:20

I don't do one for myself as I think it would make me feel a bit sad.

But if I could have one given to me I'd want

Lindt chocolate Santa
Makeup
Book
Fancy bath bomb
Nice coffee

Aderyn21 · 15/12/2021 08:20

Body lotion for my favourite perfume

Glossier pink lipstick

Big bag of minstrels (been low carbing for a couple of months and really miss minstrels)

A new book

PigeonPigPie · 15/12/2021 08:26

Essential oils from neals yard
T2 Mulled Wine tea
Vegan chocs
Kaweco pen and ink
Moleskine or paperblanks notebook
Bedsocks
A paperback

OnAWinterMorningFarAway · 15/12/2021 08:55

@HollyandIvyandAllThingsYule

I’d personally rather have a clementine or satsuma, now that Terrys chocolate orange is apparently vile and waxy. Some chocolate coins would be cute as long as you could find some made with good chocolate.
The dark chocolate orange is a lot nicer. It's worth trying, as it's only £1 in many supermarkets at the moment.
Marcipex · 15/12/2021 09:16

Perfume.
Lavender sachets
Haribo

FortunesFave · 15/12/2021 09:25

I bloody do my own. Dh has ADHD and just isn't capable....he can just about earn money and do the garden and dogs. 20 years of trying has just taught me it's almost always disappointing...he does try and will usually buy me an actual present but stockings...nope! I like to do one for our teens though and seems churlish to not do one for DH and myself!

I don't really mind...I know I'm getting nice things! And as I say, there's always at least one wrapped actual gift from DH.

Mrsfussypants1 · 15/12/2021 09:29

Lush snow fairy bath bomb
Reeces choc
Socks with cats on
Hair mask
Book

Mrsfussypants1 · 15/12/2021 09:30

Oh and a good umbrella
Gloves

Bellafrenum · 15/12/2021 09:33

Umbrella is a good one.

Knock Knock do some really good post-it style pads, they tend to be funny and in nice colours.

I've bought myself wrist warmers and fingerless gloves this year (I feel the cold something dreadful).

I like small tins; I have a tin for emergency teabags (The Bright Side) for my bag, Emma Bridgewater little Christmas tins for bauble hooks, thumb tacks, noticeboard pins.

I brought back painted wooden Christmas ornaments from Germany, they are so charming and cute. My tree is an eclectic mix so they look right at home on there, among the knitted snowmen, felt mice and tiny cuddly dogs in Santa hats (from Wilko).

A special keyring, a festive Yankee Candle votive, a clip-on vial of hand sanitiser, a mini-cracker, a Swiss Army knife, a coaster with a particular design, a string dispenser, a car air-freshener (in a scent known to be liked by recipient), a cute or cosy pair of socks.

All of these things I would have in my stocking or put in someone else's.

TheCreamCaker · 15/12/2021 11:18

some fruit-scented shower gel
a calendar with wildlife/cat photos on
Terry's chocolate orange
puzzle books
slippers
hand cream

Bellafrenum · 15/12/2021 15:44

Car Air freshener! Good one!

@Mintyt

I do a stocking for my friend, she does her husband and child and her mum done her, sadly her mum passed away just after Christmas, so I do her stocking, I buy things all year, in sales and charity shops and bill her husband every so often, she says it's her best gift
This sounds lovely - good for you!
eightmaidsamilking · 15/12/2021 20:02

Car perfume 😍 is genius, I'm going to add a Rituals car perfume to my stocking.
