I need to buy a present for a 2 yr old boy and I'm really struggling because a) he has almost every toy a 2 yr old boy could have, b) I know what his Mum has bought my daughter and it cost about £50 and c) 12 mths+ is too babyish and a lot of 3yrs + toys are unsuitable. Please can you help me with ideas.

Brio! If he hasn't got any, start him off. If he has, add to the collection. There's so much of it, he can't possibly have it all. If Brio is too pricey, ELC, Woollies and Tesco all do their own versions which are compatible.

A music set - you can get some lovely wooden ones including xylophone, tambourine, maracas etc for £15.

Playdoh stuff.

Or if he has lots, can you use Tesco clubcard vouchers (if you have them) to treat him to a day out in the New Year? They do Legoland as well as lots of other places. That way it'll look seriously generous too because for £15 of vouchers you could get £60 worth of entry ticket.

TK Maxx had a Thomas & Friends Brio-style set last week for £15 - I have bought it for my great-nephew who is 2½. In fact I started a thread on it, will find it in a sec...
