I'm going up with dd(8) and another family on thursday to see FC at Harrods. We have an evening slot. Can you recommend some nice Christmassy stuff to visit in the afternoon please. I'm not able to walk miles and miles at the moment so I'm a bit nervous of going over to South Kensington for museums. We did this one Christmas then had to walk back to into the centre as all the tube stations were closed due to overcrowding.
Thanks

London eye - but you may need to book tickets. London is great from there of an evening.

Now thats a lovely idea How special would that be to see all the Christmas lights from on high!
Would have to run it past friend as they (like most of us!) are on a budget.
Thanks!

We saw FC at Harrods, it was great. Couldn't believe it was free, but they do charge a tenner for the photo.

Covent Garden is nice at Christmas - some small rides for the kids and entertainment. think the Transport museum has now reopened. Use the buses but allow plenty of time. Take a bus ride via Oxford Street , Regent Street (lights and windows) to Trafalgar Square where you can see the big Christmas tree and National Gallery.

if you can't get on the london eye a wander round there would be good - all very lit up and festive as I remember adn you will be away(ish) from shopping crowds.

like the idea of one of the Churches doing christmas carols. Must check out St Martin in the Fields. Then can wander to Trafalgar Square.

Covent garden lovely idea too as weather will be dry.

I would love to go ice-skating but arthritis is bad at moment and dd needs me to cling on to still

How exciting. Was getting a bit bah humbug about it but now I've got some lovely ideas to look into. Thanks all
