Best way to "wrap" money

My teen is getting some money and I want to wrap it somehow. I'm not keen on a big box as I think he'll think it's an Xbox (out of budget!) but want it to be a nice surprise.
Anyone else giving money any got a fabulous idea? Thank you 😊

My husband is getting a gift voucher from my mum. Because it looks a bit crap on it's own we've got a box of Freddo Frogs (his favourite) to put it in. Grin

I saw some Christmas tins in home bargains that you hang on the tree with sweets/chocolate in, you could put it in one of those?

Tomeeornottomee · 11/12/2021 09:13

Maybe scrunch the notes up and wrap each individually in a box of chocs? Like ferrero. That way you can munch on a few choccies (so you can use the wrapper) AND surprise DS with his gift. Win win.

Make your own Xmas cracker...stick some chocolate coins in too

KateLumley · 11/12/2021 09:16

What about hiding it in a puzzle box? Something like this

catchingzzzeds · 11/12/2021 09:17

I used a puzzle box last year and it was a big hit, added to it by using £50 notes (he'd never seen one before!)

KateLumley · 11/12/2021 09:18

Or this?

Doidontimmm · 11/12/2021 09:36

Oh I love the puzzle boxes too!!

polkadotpjs · 11/12/2021 10:26

our nephew always gets money- we have done puzzle box, scratch card, cracker, bauble and this year he is saving for a massive lego set so we're making a lego gift box

YouDoIDo · 11/12/2021 10:55

I agree with the puzzle box they always go down well also head to the pound shop and get boxes of chocs, socks, gloves etc little small bits and wrap them with that.

SingItToWinIt · 11/12/2021 10:56

Yes puzzle box here too. It was a great hit last year, for ds1 because he opened it in about 3 minutes so basked in the smug glory of winning. And for ds2 because it took him over an hour which provided much (good natured!) amusement for the rest of us and overwhelming relief for ds2 when he managed it 😂

I got a present of cash one year folded into a star shape inside a card - very sweet

SoupDragon · 11/12/2021 11:05

I wrap money by putting the notes round things like jars of Nutella and rolling them up tightly to get them inside a bag of chocolate coins.

Emmas85 · 11/12/2021 11:10

I've got a bauble with confetti type stuff in and my sons initial on from b and m and I'm going to put money in there and hang it on the tree.

flashpaper · 11/12/2021 11:22

I used a puzzle box this year for tickets for DP (and threw a few chocolates inside too) and one year I opened a Christmas cracker, put the confirmation email for tickets inside (with LOADS of confetti), sealed it back up, and made sure I lost when we pulled it for DMum. You could definitely do these with money too.

I've ordered a maze for my DS - he always asks for money (which is fine by us as we'd rather give him cash he wants than things he doesn't ) but it is tricky trying to find a way to present it each year .

I did a book one year ( childrens book) with notes secured in each page with a fancy paperclip Xmas Grin

Hes 22 yo
