Modern electric fire - how to make it festive

We have this ugly electric heater (don’t use, it does glow red at the back when on) which we will get removed, but for Christmas does anyone have any ideas on how to make it look festive? It’s a slimline style so there is no wide flat top to balance anything on unless I bulk it up with boxes etc.

I love traditional garlands, large candles, and to hang our stockings (x3) but will it just look all a bit ridiculous given how it’s such a modern electric heater?

I’d love a traditional fireplace but in the meantime am stuck with this ugly thing so I’d like to make the best of it.

I would place a very large wreath on the mirror to make that area festive.

Pegasussnail's idea of a wreath over the mirror would look good. I think a garland draped over the top of the fire would look lovely too even though the fire is modern. Could you place some candles on the floor either side of the fire?
