I'm looking for a present for my closest friend. I wanted to get her something decorative but I'm struggling to find anything. I thought about maybe a beautiful Christmas candle.

Any suggestions? £40 is my maximum.

Nice gloves are something people don’t tend to buy themselves but they feel special. You can spend a lot but there are lots that are sold in nice gift boxes within your budget. Check out Dents or Not on the High Street.

When you say decorative, do you mean for her house? Maybe a trip to the nearest Homesense? They always have nice things.

Unless you're absolutely sure she wants a candle I'd steer clear. I actually love candles but they're a very generic gift and people end up with dozens of wax melt/candle type gifts and it's not special.
I've ordered these two things off Amazon for friends that I wanted something pretty for.
Etsy is also great for lovely and unusual gifts.

By candle I meant one in a lovely decorative jar, not just a bog standard Yankee. I've seen a lovely Chase and Wonder christmas one that is slightly over budget but is in a beautiful jar.

If you are anywhere near a TK Maxx or Homesense, they have some gorgeous Pecksniffs candles at the moment. I’m normally a proper candle snob but these are gorgeous, really subtle scents that still fill the house, rather than BAM in your face synthetic Yankee style. They also have some gorgeous wine glasses, I got some iridescent ones that look fab on the table at this time of year.

The White Company has a beautiful pillar candle in Winter Fir which is a Christmassy but refreshing scent so perfect for burning into the new year. Not in a jar but you could buy one with a pretty plate from Anthropologie to stand it on.
