Silk pillow case recommendations - why so expensive

That's it really, I'm looking for silk pillow cases for xmas gifts, but they are crazy money, some are like £35 or £50 just for a pillow case.

Just wondering if you could recommend a cheaper one which still looks and feels good and maybe in a nice box like the expensive ones Hmm

Silk is expensive. That's all there is to it.

Just make them yourself

I’ve got a lovely one from Amazon - jasmine silk - silk on one side only which is better as it doesn’t slip around. No fancy box but you could just buy a box separately…well within budget

Should add their eye masks are also excellent and you could get both within budget. I don’t work for them promise, just a massive fan of their products Blush

M&S now have one for a very reasonable £25 so I've switched to that from the John Lewis £45 one.

You need pure mulberry silk with a high momme count and that doesn't come cheap. Half silk/ half satin or cheaper ones for a tenner just aren't the same

I've brought several from Jasmine Silk - pillowcases & eye masks, they are sold on Amazon.

I was told mulberry is best.
Mine is silk on both sides and does not slide around.
I’ve got all of mine off Amazon.

Can I ask a question about them please? Do they make your face/head hot? Being very menopausal I get hot enough at night, but I do want a silk pillow case to help calm my frizzy hair.

I find the opposite, they feel very cooling

Funnily enough I woke up with a sweaty head last night, but I’m peri and I’d had a drink. they are meant to be cooler.

Not pillowcase but I can recommend the M&S comfortably cool bedding This is a strange one but Grin my cat will never go on my bed. Unless the M&S bedding is on, and it has to be the comfortably cool one Confused so even he can tell the difference! It's smooth and silky but not cheap feeling and it feels cold to the touch

Because silk is bloody expensive and rightly so. Have you seen how it's made?
