Tree lights..........are coloured bulbs really naff?

Tell me i'm wrong please, i really like them.
The old man wants clear.

We have coloured ones (so we can be naff together )

Imagine walking down a street where every house had a tree with white lights - how boring would that be?

Tried to palm tree off as 'shabby chic' wtm..

Tbh I thought that coloured lights were a bit naff but last night was walking down the street and saw a house that has a huge tree with coloured baubles and lights and it looked gorgeous - far more festive than my "stylish" co-ordinated effort.

I have coloured lights because I like them better. Life is too short to worry about stuff like that. Have what you like and feel sorry for all those people with boring yet tasteful clear ones.

IMO Christmas is a celebration of the naff.
I hate attempts to somehow make this festival of kitsch excess "tasteful".

multi-coloured singing, flashing etc = tacky, but i have blue to co-ordinate with decs

I bought coloured ones for the first time this year and I think they're lovely. I bought those round cherry ones in all different colours and they really do look pretty. Go for it, ignore the DH - I do!

OOh, I like the big fat round ones best of all!

hmmmmm,mine aren't big and fat.

They don't have the plastic 'flower' bit either.
