What boxsets are vaguely cosy/Christmassy for this time of year?

We recently finished Peaky Blinders, I wish we'd had it over December as its quite cosy viewing. Can anyone recommend what they have found to be quite fitting for the season? Preferably something set in the UK!

Probably not your cup of tea but Downton Abbey somehow gives me majorly cosy vibes.
Binge watched it the last month (followed by the film) whilst putting away washing or wrapping presents.
Also you’ve probably already seen it but if not ‘Gavin and Stacey’

Box of Delights. You may have to buy it on DVD but its so so Christmassy. As is the old BBC version of the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. Or The Children of Green Knowe. Admittedly, all ancient BBC series aimed at kids - but I'm 43 now and I watch them every year!

Poldark. The first series was the best but you could binge watch the lot. Lovely scenery too.

Lark Rise to Candleford?
I was going to say Gilmore Girls as well until you said something set in the UK!

Box of Delights is worth it for the theme tune alone.

Cranford and Return to Cranford. So lovely.

Gavin and Stacy, Miranda and Downtown for me

Midsomer Murders. Just watched a Christmas episode of it but find all of them "cosy" to watch.

I second Gilmore girls! Weirdly though they don't have a Xmas special even though it feels like they would be perfect for one.

Also not British but modern love on Amazon is very cute.

How is Peaky Blinders ‘cosy’ viewing?

@Negligee

How is Peaky Blinders ‘cosy’ viewing?
I was going to say! I don't mind a bit of dark in my TV, but I gave up with Peaky Blinders because of the unrelenting misery!

If Peaky Blinders is 'cosy viewing' to you, I suspect you may find everything suggested here overly cloying!

Hollytreenew · 09/12/2021 21:36

Good point made above! I haven’t actually seen Peaky Blinders but have heard! Maybe disregard my suggestions then!
