Really beautiful Bone China mugs

I am all out of ideas for my parents'Christmas present but I have noticed when at my parents that despite a good selection of mugs, my mum always drinks from a china one that is badly chipped. One of those narrower fine china ones.

Now, they are terrible at throwing anything away so it may just be that, but in the absence of anything other ideas I'm going to assume she loves the mug and doesn't want to drink from non china ones. And Dad can have one too Grin

As I'm going for quality over quantity, where would you look for a really lovely, but still dishwasher proof, china mug?

Fort nuns have stunning ones...but pricey!

Or indeed Fortnums (no idea about fort nuns!)

Not on the Highstreet has lovely hand painted ones. I've bought several for my Mum on there - she's exactly the same, fine bone China or nuffink. Not crazy prices.

If not hand painted, originally designed Smile

John Lewis has a good selection of own brand ones like this www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-partners-archive-print-longstock-bone-china-mug-280ml-pink-multi/p5611626

I live in the potteries. May I suggest Wedgwood? Beautiful pieces that are very special. Plus there is a lot of history to the brand.

Try the portmeirion website. They do stock them in John Lewis but the selection is better on their website. They have a lovely range of animal mugs which I’m coveting, even though I know they are a little twee.
