I think you'll really like Irish Black Butter.
It's a rich conserve of Bramley apples, cider, brandy and spices. There is no butter in it so it's an odd name.
It's hard to explain- it's not a relish, it's quite treacly in appearance but it tastes very similar to plum pudding.
It would be lovely with cheese and crackers.
I bought it at a local craft fair. The man selling it said he was on Dragon's Den but didn't get funding.

Sounds great - I cannot tell you how many Christmas puddings I have thrown away because no - one likes them - even though they last for ages - but this and cheese and crackers - good shout

There appear to be lots of stockists.
It's not a chutney but thicker than a jam.
It's like a Bovril/ Marmite consistency but tastes of Christmas pud.

This sounds like a variety of apple butter, which is made a fair bit in the USA.
It is easy to make in a slow cooker, just takes a long time.
