me

honestly what IS all the fuss about

It is ONE DAY

The shops are shut for ONE DAY (or two in some places I guess)

You CAN wear normal clothes you know, you don't have to look like Dame Edna

It is JUST A ROAST
Nothing to get your knickers in a twist about

You need to delegate soph

surely your Mum can make cranberry sauce and bread sauce for eg... (at least then she would have something to hold when she turns up at 8am )

Can you save me some banoffee pie

swedes - Deborah Meaden doesn't do it for me!

Besides, I wanted to watch Nigella for the recipes....

Swedes2Turnips1 · 18/12/2007 15:16

UQD - I don't think Debroah Meaden does it for anyone - that is the point - I was being ironic. LOL at watching Nigella for the recipes.

I don't own anything shiny and will wear something brown, and probably a bit dirty. The girls will be dressed up to the nimes, however;' but they are both under 5 and so that is allowed. Anyway, glitter and wings is what they wear every day.

UnquietDad · 18/12/2007 15:17

sorry, I am too bunged up to appreciate irony today. I shall go and slap myself around the head with an FR Leavis.

Spockster · 18/12/2007 15:19

Otrivine is what you need.

Swedes2Turnips1 · 18/12/2007 15:20

UQD - Sorry to hear that - this maybe useful

UnquietDad · 18/12/2007 15:21

Not THAT sort of bunged up!!!

Swedes2Turnips1 · 18/12/2007 15:23

UQD - I was being ironic but you are probably too bunged up to realise.

Well DS will be wearing something shiny and flamable that the average good mnetter disapproves of - his new football shirt. And DD will be wearing her new M&S velvet dress. Dunno about me yet, but will make a bit of an effort.

Lauriefairycake · 18/12/2007 15:53

I won't be getting out of pyjamas all day - with a nice elasticated waist for all the chocs

AMerryScot · 18/12/2007 15:56

Not in a panic here at all.

We are Christian so our focus is away from the material side of Christmas and having to do everything just so.

TinyTimLivesinVictorianSqualor · 18/12/2007 15:57

Even I don't watch Nigella for the recipes. I prefer the quotes.
"Sometimes only mashed potato will do"
(For some reason I imagine she talks in italic)

ernest · 18/12/2007 16:23

I intend to ensure the presents are wrapped. I'll try to tidy the house. I have 3 pairs of trousers I can wear, none of them shiny. No panicking here.

Except how I'm going to get through the day with a stir crazy stroppy arsed dh who hates having 'nothing to do' and no trips organised somewhere.
