A warm hat for lady that doesn’t suit hats

A random one . My mother is convinced she doesn’t suit hats and to fair most winter hats do make her look slightly gnome like . She has conceded though and now feels she needs a. Warm hat for gardening and walking the dog . Has anyone come across warm hats that are flattering and don’t end up looking like a gnome . Thanks in advance.

Has she tried a wool beret - they flatter most face types, come in almost any colour and keep your head very warm?

I like Barts hats but without the fold up so it doesn’t add too much bulk to the head.

Felt cloche?

Woollen headbands might be an option- they keep ears and forehead warm so have a lot of the benefit of a hat but are a different look so may be more flattering / less gnome like

I would suggest a proper hat with a brim to avoid the gnome-y look, eg a wool fedora.

Cashmere beret. I live in mine in winter. Beanie type hats don’t suit me at all.
