Trees: Fewer Norway Spruces this year?

We usually have a Norway spruce for our tree; the goes in a cool corner and we have a base with a reservoir so we rarely have issues with dropped needles and don’t bother paying a premium for a Nordmann fir. This year, however, it seems to be wall-to-wall Nordmanns everywhere. We’re trying a farm tomorrow but has anyone else noticed this? Bad growing year for spruces? Lower demand and everyone just wants a Nordmann?

I hope not as they are the only ones that smell nice.
I've ordered mine from the usual supplier to be delivered next week and haven't been informed of any problems.

I couldn't get one yesterday at the usual garden centre so I'm going to a local forest supplier. I've been iffing and anding to be honest because of the needles. I usually get a Nordman but the spruces look so lovely and traditional.
