@Thewiseoneincognito

You know full well the OP said Yankee, not Diptyque

Woodwick - warm wool is my absolute favourite candle. Non of the Yankee candles come close to it!

Pegasussnail · 03/12/2021 19:45

I love them all
Just incase you want a treat for after Christmas and to keep your house smelling gorgeous in January yankee Lemon Lavender is the cleanest most beautiful scent.

loadypoady · 03/12/2021 19:48

I absolutely loved Yankee savour the season which is no longer available.
If anyone knows what is a similar to it I am all ears.

North Pole is lovely, it smells of candy canes.

👏👏👏

Just remembered another favourite, crackling wood fire.

PAFMO · 03/12/2021 20:00

Diptique are made of paraffin just like Yankee.
Incidentally. Xmas Hmm

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 03/12/2021 20:03

BC ( Before Cats) we had candles

Sparkling Cinnamon ( so much nicer than Connamon Stick)
Red Apple Wreath
MacIntosh Red (apple without the spice)
Creme Brulee ( discontinued Sad )

Merry and Bright is lovely too

I don't personally like pine-y scents or Christmas Eve

fuckweasel · 03/12/2021 20:12

Candy Cane Forest. The only time I shell out for a Yankee candle is my once a year treat! Lovely and fresh and subtly minty.

quitecrunchy · 03/12/2021 20:15

Saw this thread title and knew it'd be perfect for a bit of Wanky candle bingo.

How long before someone comes on and tells OP they need a £160 Jo Malone or whatever if they want their house to smell nice?

starsparkle08 · 03/12/2021 20:26

I really like the home bargain ones they look very similar to Yankee and only £2.99 to £3.99 I can’t afford to spend more on a candle but these smell lovely and burn along time too

CagneyNYPD1 · 03/12/2021 20:32

I love YC Christmas Eve. I also love their Amaretto Apple candle but it has now been discontinued 😢

HappyMeal564 · 03/12/2021 20:33

Cherries on snow 🍒

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 04/12/2021 22:12

Beacon if you've never had a YC before remember to trim the wick (it says on the website 1/8th of an inch but I do 1/4" and it's fine as long as you keep an eye on it and trim regularly)
Easiest way is the long handled wick trimmer , they make sure the length is correct and lift the excess away .

Always let it burn til the wax pool is across the surface , usually 3-4 hours on the first burn. If you don't , you'll get a dip in the centre then it'll tunnel .

Keep out of a draught .
You can give little covers that let the aroma out but protect the flame .
Don't blow it out , put the glass lid on the starve the flame of oxygen.

If you get a lump on the wick (mushrooming) you trim that when its cool then light .

Don't let matches or wick fragment fall in the wax or you create another 'wick'

I do miss candles but I love the cats more Xmas Smile

All Is Bright.

Poppins17 · 05/12/2021 19:35

I love Christmas Eve - it’s just Christmas to me!

reddA · 05/12/2021 19:43

Keep an eye on yankee bundles I went a bit mad earlier this year on their deals getting 5 for £50 Blush I'm not sure which is my favourite though, I like to swap them around after a couple of evenings

Eukanuba · 05/12/2021 19:46

Another for cherries on snow .

StarlessSea123 · 05/12/2021 20:48

All Is Bright is a lovely fresh Christmas Yankee candle

Sn0tnose · 05/12/2021 20:52

I’d go for Woodwick’s Frasier Fir, which smells just like Christmas trees.

Not too different in price, depending on the size you choose, and Woodwick is owned by the same company as YC. Plus it crackles when it burns.
