I am famous amongst the other mums for doing this. Every year a couple of them pat me on the back before the play and ask 'are you going to be alright this year'

I try to hold it back, but the tears escape... I must look so silly, huge grin but with tears pouring down my face

well, its dd2 first navity this year and she is playing mary. i know i am going to blub like a baby. and i'll be able to watch it all as the school are providing a creche this year for little ones.

thing is there wasn't even any other parents there, as we had to go to the dress rehersal because we couldnt take callum to the mai n shows and i made a fool of myself in front of the whole school and the teachers...

at DD's school play this year the head teacher was wiping away tears as he stood up to thank everyone!
loads of sniffles and discreet dabbing all around me (myself included)

I always blub at these things - doesn't even have to be the Xmas ones, actually. They played Space Oddity at DS2's sharing assembly earlier this year and for some bizarre reason that set me off...

sparklygothkat · 17/12/2007 16:33

I cry when they get awards, when they do the plays, even when Ds1 got to light a candle last year at the church carol concert..

Oh I'm a big blubber too. My boy sang a solo in his nativity (6 years old), that set me off. I don't care now, my friends come to expect it. Cry and be proud I say!

I also cry at the schools leaving ceremony every year. I've never had a kid leave there yet, god only knows what I'll be like when I do!

Hurray for the blubbers!!
