I know this is a big ask as perfume is so personal. 16 year old DD would like some new perfume. She has lady million but no idea really what she would like. I did ask her to smell some but she hasn’t been anywhere amd we are christmas shopping tomorrow. Are there any must haves or good offers? Help!!!

My dd who is 16 loves Daisy by Marc Jacobs she had a bottle last Christmas and has asked for it again this year.

NalPolishRemover · 02/12/2021 21:56

My 16 your old is also getting Marc Jacobs Daisy this year. It seems to be a popular one with this age group

MrsPleasant · 02/12/2021 21:57

Mine had Daisy and likes it, she also loves CKOne. I don't like the Daisy so have bought her Chanel fresh something or other which smells great.

BamberGascoine · 02/12/2021 22:06

I have a nearly full bottle of daisy she can have if that’s what they are all in to. She does also like to steal my chanel chance so I might look at a
Chanel. Thanks

Apparently next Nu smells the same as Chanel coco mademoiselle

Vinniepolis · 02/12/2021 22:41

I got my 15yo another Marc Jacobs perfume last year - Perfect - and she loves it. The saleslady at Boots recommended it but I also liked the name as DD had been through a rough few years and it was my way of saying I loved her just as she was/is.

My DSD wears:
Versace - Crystal Nior (very nice and always on offer in Superdrug)
YSL - Black Opium
Gucci - Guilty
Viktor and Rolf - Bon Bon

@gogohm

Apparently next Nu smells the same as Chanel coco mademoiselle
Is that the eau nude one ?

DD is 17 and for the last few years we've bought her a bottle of Daisy by Marc Jacobs at Christmas. But this year she's asked for Nova by Thierry Mugler and I must admit it smells heavenly.

ncsmummy · 05/12/2021 10:04

My daughter is 17. The last couple of years she asked for Marc Jacobs Daisy but this year she’s asked for Gucci Flora Gorgeous Gardenia so she’s getting that instead

slalomsuki · 05/12/2021 10:14

Daisy is very different from Lady Millions and if she likes the latter I suspect she will not be that keen on Daisy. I speak from experience here

What about Obsession or CK one as an alternative. Mine asked for a Mulberry perfume for her birthday which is not floral but slightly more spicy. It was expensive but seems to have been a good gift.

BamberGascoine · 05/12/2021 10:30

I think I need to take her to try some. She liked the Daisy but she wasn’t wowed and excited, you knkw when you love it. She asked for a Gucci one and I thought it would be too strong but I think it’s so personal isn’t it?

I find chanel too old. Next have a great range. They have 5 small bottles for around £25

My DDs love:

Gucci bamboo
My way
Alien
Lady million
And Victoria secrets range.

Suprima · 05/12/2021 11:49

Daisy smells like slightly floral water

Lady Million is a strong scent.

I think she would like Black Opium

Suprima · 05/12/2021 11:49

Or Gucci Guilty maybe

LemonSwan · 05/12/2021 11:51

I second YSL Black Opium.

Had a clear out the other day and found a tester. Its bloody gorgeous! Asking for that for xmas from DP.

My perfume of choice in early 20s was Victor Rolf Flowerbomb. Its lovely. Need to get another one of them too.

Cherryrainbow · 05/12/2021 13:56

Paco robanne olympea
Marc Jacobs perfect
Mugler alien goddess
Michael kors wonderlust

Personally I'm a fan of candy / oriental floral scents with vanilla kinda touches. My sister loves Marc Jacobs daisy but I'm not a fan, we both (and my mum) love olympea.
