Ok so I haven’t read the books (I tried to once when I was bedridden abroad and it was the last book in English) so I don’t really know what’s ‘in’.

Any suggestions for a female 30 year old potter fan (and I’m talking Mega Fan) and her equally fanatical husband (both big fans).

About £25 each - maybe a joint thing?

Harry Potter Scene It DVD quiz game.

I work at the HP tour and I can assure you we get many many many lovely people that come in full costume or robes. In fact they are usually the nicest people at the tour and cause the least hassle.

Good on them

The tour has an official shop if you google

There are great board games out there too. The Lego is excellent. I have the books that fold up and they are delightful.

drinkwithanumbrellainit · 02/12/2021 18:08

Agree with Battle for Hogwarts game or one of the game extensions if they already have it.

TheBestWhootersInWhoville · 02/12/2021 18:11

I don't really get the logic - if someone's favourite book was anna karenina would you buy them a cuddly train or a Russian style shawl

The shops are full of Harry Potter merchandise. Clearly a lot of fans do like the merch/primark tat.

@HelplesslyHoping

Might I suggest a voucher for counselling or therapy? Hmm
Go on, it’s Christmas. Treat yourself to day off from being a twat.

You can get HP crochet sets and other craft sets, if either of them are in to crafting. 2 for £10 in the works, plus some chocolates maybe - they have HP chocolates in M&S so at least it would be decent quality.

The problem with anything like board games, home items, lego is that they might already have it.

EyesAsGreenAsAFreshPickledToad · 02/12/2021 18:18

@CovidPassQuestion

If they like chocolate, I saw the Hogwarts Main Building made out of chocolate yesterday! In M&S, I think they were £12. They also had various other things- a golden snitch, can't remember what else. The Hedwig soft toy (was £11 when I bought it for my DD a couple of Christmases ago) is utterly gorgeous and soft.
M and s chocolate is disgusting though so not that great a gift. The chocolate frogs and jelly slugs you get from the official HP shop are beyond vile as well. Cath Kidston have a HP range of homeware. The plates and mugs are pretty. I like the lego Hedwig. I think it’s under £30.

@BunnyBerries

Hand knitted look Christmas jumpers with a big initial of H and R (like Harry and Ron have) or their own initials? Smile
Love this idea but not a lot of time to knock up a handmade sweater between now and Christmas!
DockOTheBay · 02/12/2021 18:20

Its a shame you didn't ask a few days ago, Argos had 20% off a lot of HP lego plus 20% off all toys on top, making a lot of it very affordable

What a fountain of fucking joy you are.

Harry Potter Trivial Pursuit is great for adults as well as children.

LegoPandemic · 02/12/2021 18:24

The Lego is lovely, as an adult I fell for the Hogsmeade Village set and am glad I have a 9 year old to buy it for.

Gingernaut · 02/12/2021 18:25

Aldi have these. Bother were in my local Aldi this afternoon.

Haha @DockOTheBay you're right about that no time for knitting. I got some off Amazon (cheating) Xmas Wink

PPCD · 02/12/2021 18:29

Harry Potter cluedo is really good if they don't have it. Genuinely an improvement on the original game imho with the floo powder.

Otherwise, you could get personalised chocolate frogs with photos of them on the cards from the HP Warner Bros tour website.

PlinkPlankPlunk · 02/12/2021 18:29

The Moleskine Harry Potter notebooks are lovely and definitely grown up and good quality

BigHeartyTruffle · 02/12/2021 18:29

I love the mugs in the new Cath Kidston Harry Potter range

Pensieve set? I've bought a few of these for relatives who are HP fans and it's gone down a treat.

AvocadoAndToast · 02/12/2021 18:50

If they are anywhere near Cheshire and you can give the gift before Christmas I would strongly recommend this for any fan! Amazing.

Mum0509 · 02/12/2021 18:52

I'd get the moving Lego Hedwig

WinterFoxCub · 02/12/2021 18:53

Well my first thought as a major HP fan- if you could kindly deliver Jason Isaacs to my house giftwrapped I'd be grateful.

WhereYouLeftIt · 02/12/2021 19:04

@Nowisthemonthofmaying

There's a new Harry Potter Le Crueset range - I bought my dh the kettle which is a bit out of your price range but I think there are cheaper things too!
Ooh! Thanks for the heads upGrin!
