What game for someone who likes Pandemic?

Just that really. Adults, they like games like Pandemic and Catan (is that the right name?). Bonus points if it could be played with someone over the Internet.

Thanks.

Basically any boardgame can be played over the internet these days eg on Boardgamearena.com

You'll get huge points with Pandemic Legacy, though they're all quite expensive. I've ordered the latest one for my brother and can't wait to get into it over Christmas!

They might also enjoy Codenames (there's a specific Duet version suitable for two players), Splendor or Dominion.

A lovely one that we enjoy is called Viticulture, where you are a wine producer. The imagery is very pleasing and its nicely 'adult' due to the subject matter.
DH is a major boardgames nerd and this is a favourite.

Pandemic Legacy is great fun and there are various different versions of it. It changes with each game you play - different rules, new characters, all sorts.

Horrified has a similar mechanic to Pandemic but is probably slightly easier (my 8 yo can play Horrified but I think Pandemic would be too complex).

If they are of a certain age and appreciate 80s movies there is a Back to the Future game that’s also collaborative and has some similar mechanics to Pandemic. Jaws is good too but I think works better with more than 2 players, though you can play with 2.

We also love Parks. It’s not like Pandemic at all but it’s so beautiful.

I really liked pandemic (pre, pandemic - feels a bit depressing to play it now). I also very much enjoy Splendor.

Flashpoint Fire Rescue is another cooperative game they might like

Dominion has a free online version (you pay if you want the expansions). Carcassonne is nice and has an online version (though not a free one). Forbidden Island is a good cooperative game, though maybe a bit simpler than Pandemic.

PurpleParrotfish · 02/12/2021 09:06

Carcassone, Ticket to Ride, Splendor and Star Realms (2 player) all come as apps. Carcassone can definitely be played remotely against other players, I’m not 100% sure about the others. They are all good games.

Wingspan, Ticket to Ride, Carcassone, Quacks of Quendlinburg, My city, Dominion, Power Grid, Trains. These are all games that my DH enjoys and I have bought him both Pandemic and Pandemic Legacy for Christmas.

Mind the Gap
Ticket to Ride
Cluedo

Sorry - you can tell this isn't my area of expertise. Blush

Many thanks to everyone, I'll do some researching. I had planned to get Clacks but it's being revamped and not available until the new year.
