Fully recyclable Christmas wrapping paper

Has anyone bought or used any this year? I’m struggling to remember where I bought some last year! It needs to be unadorned with glitter/plastic etc so it can go in the recycling bin.

I use fabric. But brown paper on a roll is probably the most recyclable paper. Apart from that, some cheap non-glitter paper from the pound shop?

mnahmnah · 29/11/2021 21:53

I got some today in The Works, £1 a roll for 5m. Brown paper, with white and red printed reindeer, trees and snow. No glitter etc

M&S have loads of plain recyclable wrapping paper and it is all without plastic outer wrap this year. Good to see companies making a change!

Cookerhood · 29/11/2021 21:56

I got a huge roll in TK Maxx.

I got some brown Kraft paper last year and wrote names on with chalk markers (and maybe a few snowflakes, snowmen etc if I really felt like it) It looked really pretty once the string was on.

This year I saw some recyclable rolls at Primark so will use those as well.

Sainsbury's has loads too.

eurochick · 29/11/2021 22:07

Waitrose does and it is not wrapped in plastic sleeves either.

DSGR · 29/11/2021 22:08

M&S, John Lewis or Waitrose

Joolsin · 29/11/2021 22:11

Aldi, Lidl, Sostrene Grene all sell kraft patterned Christmas paper rolls

didireallysaythat · 29/11/2021 22:19

I get brown paper and the brown paper tape from amazon (I can't things with dute and keep them wrapped up).

Doofas · 29/11/2021 22:23

Like others, brown paper as recyclable sellotape that we got from our local refill shop. It sticks a bit funny but does the job.

Dunelm. They also do recyclable tags & ribbon, plus washi tape.

Loads of places do it now. I've seen it in M&S, Aldi, Asda, Co-op. You just have to read the labels. Marks and Coop even had plastic free packaging on the wrapping paper, and aldi had plastic free Christmas crackers too. Thankfully it is becoming more normal to have recyclable wrapping paper.

I have also bought some festive fat quarters from hobbycraft and planning to use them as reusable wrapping paper for family we will see on Christmas day

DockOTheBay · 29/11/2021 22:40

Babipur sell some lovely patterned paper tape.

Blueberry40 · 29/11/2021 22:48

WHSmith has a good range of recyclable paper in different colours- I’ve gone for navy blue and going to add gold ribbon and pine cones.

Blueberry40 · 29/11/2021 22:49

Also got some lovely recyclable Christmas wrap from paperchase last year- think they still sell it!

Oxfam, recycled and recyclable, and much admired when used the last couple of years.

maofteens · 30/11/2021 11:33

Sainsbury's has done nice paper that has no glitter and no shine. We also reuse paper if it's a big present (I've even reused tags and always reuse bows).

SophieHatterPendragon · 30/11/2021 11:36

Just get some brown paper (it’s cheaper if you buy it from the postage aisle rather than the wrapping paper aisle)

We use stamps or I had draw pictures on it to make it look more festive
