I know they don't like a buch of crap (x30)!!!!

But what to get? Previously I have done

a nice bauble

book vouchers if they have mentioned they like to read (£5)

Those Oxfam unwrapped things.

May still go with one of those, but anyone have any other ideas??

I really like dc's teachers. One is retiring, so this week will be her last.

My two dds have bought their teacher a small bag of Thorntons choccies each. Only cost £1.70 ish but dds had masses of fun buying their little gifts that they chose. Doesn't sound much but it's the thought that counts. I've heard that teachers get so much stuff they end up giving most of it away!!

chocies, can share (usually do) with TA's and others.

Booze over chocs every time!!

I got DS's teacher and TA a lovely bauble for Xmas tree a couple of years ago. I fugured they could either use it at home, or put it on school Xmas tree. TA actually wrote a letter to thank DS and said she really liked it.

A small plant? Home-made biscuits? All the teachers I know have said they'd rather receive a card with a message saying how much they're valued rather than a present. I'd feel a bit of a cheapskate doing just that, so have included it in an Oxfam school dinners for 100 card.

we did the oxfam unwrapped thing and sent in 100 school dinners and donaion to a school gifts. The head and the teacher both made a point of coming over and thnking me for such a thoughtful gift. I sent a card with it saying how much i appreciated them and they said that was the best bit!!!!

we have got dd's teachers/nursery nurses a bottle of m&s cava each, 4 bottles for £20.

We've done the Oxfam 100 school dinners and text book thing. This year, Oxfam has a new "build a bit of a classroom". Have done that this year. They'll get enough chocolate/cheap smellies/wine (ok, well, you can never have too much wine!) from the other children and just think it's nice that some less well off children benefit.
