See my DD has told me it's because they weren't good children and didn't get presents so they think maybe he wasn't real.

My dd is 12 and she is so playing me! How can she still believe fgs! I will keep going though and never have the conversation with her. I will still bite the gotty carrot on Christmas Eve and still drink the baileys for Father Christmas (well, someones got to!) She will always have a stocking whilst she lives in this house and knowing me, I'll still do it whe she's left home!

Father Christmas (tooth fairy ..any other magical creature) exists when you believe in them .. if you don't believe they don't exist ... so it's up to you whether you believe

my DD told me that the tooth fairy wasnt real (she was 9) so the next tooth she lost the fairy didnt come and she so regretted her words. She wrote a letter to the TF saying sorry!

Well, I think it's because some unlucky people just can't see Magic any more once they grow up. But some of us can... and in our house we still leave our snack out for Santa and his reindeer every year - and it disappears, too!

DD found her teeth that I had been storing just before she had to have 4 out in hospital. She was 10, so I figured I'd come clean! She had the teeth out at Easter and she was so fab about the whole thing we bought her a new bike. (she was getting one anyway, it just seemed like a good opportunity). she came home from hospital and said 'I'll make a fortune tonight with 4 teeth!' Yeah right love, I don't think so!
