What's Santa bringing for you?

I've now finished all my Christmas shopping, but I'm now sabotaging my husband finishing his by not having a clue what I would like. I've got a 6 month old baby so my usual go-to gift of a spa day no longer has the same appeal. I've got a nice handbag I never get to use as I'm always carrying the changing bag. I've stopped wearing my jewelry at the moment as it gets pulled or in the way. So I'm looking for some inspiration for a nice gift! What is Santa bringing for you?

Turtle Doves fingerless gloves.
New boots
Chalet socks
Morphe pallet
My favourite skincare.

Some suggestions: beauty box subscription so you can enjoy a bit of me time at home.
Costa/Starbucks gift card when my dcs were younger I was forever popping in for coffee to help keep me awake or because it was a convenient place to feed them.

This is my recent birthday / Christmas list (birthday in November so I write a big list to cover both)

Cashmere bed socks

New Ugg slippers - last pair lasted well but have done their time

Nice moleskin journal - for all the lists (so many lists! In fact I had a spare morning to myself in the summer hols and wrote a gift list because I can never think of anything nearer the time and it's exhausting to try and make a list! See I do love a list!)

Nice pen from Cult Pens - see lists above

Pompom handbag with extra straps

Liz earle hand wash and hand cream set

New bedding - John Lewis or TX Maxx is easy to search online for the right size and order online

New blanket for the sofa to upgrade v cheap fleecy ones from Matalan that we've had for years!

In an ideal world I would like,
a soft and cosy dressing gown
Kiehls ultra face cream (I’ve run out)
Prosecco
Krispy kreme jam donuts
A grey faux fur blanket with soft thermal lining
A new leather cross body slouchy bag

My dd is 5 and I’ve just split up with her dad so I might have to get these for myself Grin

DH needs a lot of guiding with gifts, so he's "bought" me a cashmere dressing gown from The White Company. It had £60 off for black friday, so he was happy.

I'm getting him a new golf jacket that he's chosen.

bloodywhitecat · 28/11/2021 20:19

A handhold from DH would be lovely.

bloodywhitecat · 28/11/2021 20:21

But |I would sell my soul to hear him say "I love you" one more time.

If you had asked me a few weeks ago I would've said a nice dressing gown but life has gone to hell in a handcart recently and I would now just love to hear him say those three little words one last time.

ExplodingCarrots · 28/11/2021 20:22

A heated throw
A Kuddly (oodie competitor)
Stuff to do my own gel nails
Some neals yard bath stuff

He'll also get some little surprises. He is really good at gift buying for me .

An oodie type hoodie for snuggling in.
A nice big fleece blanket.

Kindle with back-light.
Decent thermos.
Hot milk frother for lattes at home!
Costa (or similar) voucher for meeting with friends for coffee.
Nice slippers.
Converse or vans trainers.
A nice calendar, diary and notebooks for lists. With pretty pens.
A nice purse and tote bag for shopping.
A nice photo frame with a photograph of all of us.

Bits really I brought them months ago not really fussed this year, hoping it’s last one here, best thing would be my pension lump sum.

Sounds like the people of Mumsnet are going to have lovely Christmas mornings! All I could think of this morning was a full night's sleep and I don't think that can be wrapped up 😂 going to do some googling now I've got some inspiration!

@bloodywhitecat Flowers I’m so sorry for your loss

MsSquiz · 28/11/2021 21:27

The year dd was born (a week before Christmas) Santa brought me an envelope full of vouchers.
For example,
time to go for a massage (DH paid)
A night out with friends
Lunch with DH or friends
A takeaway of my choice
etc...
And DH looked after DD or organised a babysitter.

Some might think it a bit cheesy, but it was nice to know he had thought about me still being able to have time to myself, while being a SAHM.

DD will be 2 this December and last night I got an early Christmas present of a night in a hotel alone, in the city where we live as I was going out for a meal with some friends. It was lovely to relax, get ready at a leisurely pace, not worry about taxis, have a big bed to myself and then a lovely long bath this morning when i woke up. (It's the first time I've been away over night from DD)

I wouldn't discount a spa day if it's something you enjoy

maofteens · 29/11/2021 02:44

Gosh a spa day is even more important now - time just for yourself!
Cashmere set of gloves and scarf? I'd like that too. Plus good slippers that fit my size 9 feet. Perfume (I don't wear scent but it's nice to have some if I feel like it).

Proudboomer · 29/11/2021 07:37

I lost my husband 4 years ago. Loved the very bones of that man but he was crap at buying Christmas presents. He was always very generous but it was just the wrong thing like a gold watch when I am more a cheap large face men’s watch type girl who loves to garden and grub around in compost and soil.

What would have been spent on his gift now gets given to our local hospice as a Christmas donation and the only real present I will get will come from my children and they know I want a hori hori gardening set so I can pretty much guarantee I will get that.
