What are you getting your 10 year old DD?

My 10 year old (11 in 6 months) just can’t think of anything at all she’d like (except an iPhone, which she def isn’t getting, she’s already got a perfectly decent phone).

She’s already got so much stuff (that she barely uses anyway - bike, hoverboard, art and craft stuff, roller blades, loads of books)
She’s at that awkward age where she’s grown out of toys…
So far, I’ve got a fake Oodie, book, t-shirt, lipsticks, socks, and that’s it!
She’s getting a camera from her grandparents and prob lots of other stuff from them too, and as her dad and I are divorced, she’ll get other presents at his house too.

I think she gets overwhelmed with stuff, but on the other hand, will prob be disappointed if there’s nothing major to open on Christmas Day.
Anyone else in the same predicament with their tween DD’s? Or anyone got any ideas/can share their lists of what they’ve got for their own DD? Seems such a tricky age…

Oh forgot, she’s also getting a bag, and a few games for the Switch.

Getting my Dd 9 a smart watch- no apps.

New scooter/ bike? Helmet
Nail varnishes
How about an experience with you, like a baking session.
A special outfit for Xmas day

Alakazam8 · 28/11/2021 10:33

My dd is getting tickets for a show she loves…something experience based, - although sounds like enough really…

StormyTeacups · 28/11/2021 10:39

Mine is just 11, but main presents are an Oodie, electric blanket, one of those cuddle cushions for reading (if you notice a theme, she has just started enjoying being in bed reading/watching death in paradise on her laptop 😂), skateboarding shoes.

MerryMarigold · 28/11/2021 10:44

A few games for Switch is a lot on its own. I think it's fine.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 28/11/2021 10:48

We are getting our DD some Warhammer figures. Plus some skiing gear(although that might be shelved if the holiday gets cancelled!)

Other people have got her..
Lego
Board games (jumangi, a Harry potter one, and pictionary)
Pyrography set
A kids fitness watch
Harry potter necklace
Sports bag
Scout camp blanket
Gardening stuff
Book voucher
Some books

Beachbreak2411 · 28/11/2021 10:49

My dd is also 10 and I’m struggling a bit!! Her Christmas list is basically a list of stationary kind of things off Amazon 😂 she also wants an iwatch and a kindle. Think I might get a cheap version of the iwatch and will probably get the kindle. She’s also getting a crystal water bottle and some clothes.

Stompythedinosaur · 28/11/2021 10:50

Dd1 sound sedately the same age. She is getting:

A Switch as a main present
A ticket to the Strictly live tour
An oodie
Some harry potter lego
A uv tshirt (can draw on it with a light pen)
A tshirt from one of the you tubers she likes
Wolf colouring book and brush pens
Harry potter potion mood light for her room
A giant squishy ball fidget toy
The pseudonymous bosch book set

Stompythedinosaur · 28/11/2021 10:51

And a resin casting kit

SnowSurprise · 28/11/2021 10:52

Mine is almost 10. I've bought her a magic box like this

I've bought slightly older DS a science kit from the same people that I'm sure she would also like.

IDidntWearASmileToday · 28/11/2021 10:52

I'm getting 10 year old DD a computer/gaming chair. Shes not very girly otherwise I might get her some hair and make up bits or nice clothes.

MojoJojo71 · 28/11/2021 10:59

I’d also get an experience rather than a gift. DD is desperate for Ed Sheeran tickets but unfortunately we are on holiday when he’s playing locally and I think Wembley might be a bit overwhelming for a first gig so I’m thinking about Harry Potter world

Anoisagusaris · 28/11/2021 11:16

DD has the following on her wish list -

Instax camera
Smart Sketcher Projector
Horse riding stuff - hat silk, gloves, This Esme merch
Art Supplies - Posca pens (I nearly died at the price of them!), sketch pad and pencils, decent colouring pencils
Books

peppersauce1984 · 28/11/2021 11:17

Ear buds
Pandora bracelet and a few charms
Nail polish
Fidget pops

tigerbear · 28/11/2021 11:41

Thanks for the ideas everyone!
Forgot to mention that she’s also getting an experience, tickets to a horse show, which are quite expensive, so maybe with a few other little things, it might be enough.
@Stompythedinosaur I like the idea of the UV tshirt, will check that out!

Don't know if this will help as my niece is 9 not 10 but I am getting her a jewellery tree and a necklace.

The jewellery tree is from etsy

Neverwrestlewithapig · 28/11/2021 12:01

I think you’ve probably already got it covered. Mine is getting an oodie style jumper, galaxy projector, light pad & logic game plus little bits. She’d like something to construct (not Lego) so I’m looking at a knex set too.

AliceMck · 28/11/2021 23:17

Wireless headphones, sports or smart watch. Gift vouchers, my almost 10yo is loving choosing and buying her stuff at the moment.

sunnyhoneybumblebee · 28/11/2021 23:24

I've got my DD:

Oodie
Dry robe
Hair straighteners
Sports watch
Bits and bobs for her bedroom
Body shop shampoo:conditioner
Art stuff
Earrings

And a few cheap stocking fillers - bath bombs; chocolate etc.
