He doesn't ever seem to 'play' with anything, but he is always running round and looking busy.
He likes in the night garden, but we already have all the characters, the little set of library books, cd and dvd.
sigh

DS1 is 34mths and he is getting a Vtech whiz kid thing.

have you got a tunnel for him to crawl through/put over his head/ make you crawl through? DS still loves his and is now nearly 3

Get a big cardboard box, the bigger the better, and fill it up with balloons, get some of the helium ones if you can. Wrap it so that its easy to open - and sit back. Hours of fun!

Tunnel is a good idea. Box full of balloons sounds great apart from a small problem of DS1 having a fear of them!

Ds has a fear of balloons? Is it the noise? If so, the helium ones don't bang (i don't think) so they could be ok.

We've got a wheelybug that DD2 got for her first birthday that she now whizzes around on (she's 17 months).

We've also bought her a trike for christmas and she's got a pram from my parents. She also has a tunnel and tent pop up set for the garden and a small trampoline with a handle.

All of these are nice busy toys.

thinking of this for DS2 atm except it is out of stock at our store
DS1 is ok with helium balloons, its the normal ones he fears.

DS2 already has a little people ride on fire truck, so I don't think he'd need a wheelybug too.

DS is same age and is getting a trike from us, farm animals from my mum, and has already had a little table and chair (ikea) from MIL as she was visiting last week. Plus probably a load of plastic tat when we go and stay next week

jinglebug · 17/12/2007 18:01

We have farm animals, dinosaurs and 100's of cars and a garage. Outdoor toys we have trikes, scooters, sit in cars, lil' trampoline, small bouncy castle for the summer.
It's the difficulty of trying to find something that they haven't already got which they might actually like and enjoy! Grrrr

Weve just got a pop up tunnel/tent set from argos only £20, or how bout a mini trampoline thingy or trike or small slide that you could use indoors.

kerryk · 17/12/2007 20:00

is this to much/big

i am sure they have these in my local toys are us for £50 and not the price shown on the web.

jinglebug · 17/12/2007 21:47

That looks fab, but a bit too big really. We've only got a small garden
