  • Get woken up very early by very excited dds.
  • Sit in bed and open stockings together.
  • All go downstairs in PJs and have breakfast.
  • Get dressed.
  • Open presents under tree.
  • DH and I get dinner cooking while DDs play with new things.
  • Pick up grandparents to come to our home for dinner.
  • Open more presents.
  • Dinner about 3pm.
  • Crash on sofa, full of food and unable to move!!
  • Drink.
  • Start eating again about 7pm with lots of drink.
  • Watch TV or play game.

I was surprised talking to one mum at school the other day. She told me her family wake up. Get dressed. Have huge cooked breakfast. Open stockings. Have dinner. Then they open the presents under the tree. My dds wouldn't be able to wait until after dinner to open all their presents (don't think I could either }

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR 2008 EVERYONE!!!!
Love Sparkler.

sometimes I call in to see friend on way to parents.

We'll have stockings in bed at about 8am then breakfast, get dressed, start opening presents (one at a time so we can see what everyone's got) we might save some for after dinner.
The boys (DH, My Dad & Brother) will go to the pub and me and Mum will do the dinner & wine
Have dinner then chill/play/snooze the rest of the day.

It's always been the same, and it's nice that even though my Mum & Dad aren't together anymore (split up 10 yrs ago!) we can still have a family Xmas together.

Previous years (with new bf this year & no parents for dinner so will be different!)

8am me wake up
8.30 wonder why no kids yet & start being noisy to wake them up!
9am they get up & we open stockings in bed
then go downstairs ad they try to open rest of pressies while I try & tidy up and make breakfast

then my parents /gps arrive & we do more presents and mess

then dinner

more visitors

4pm everyone goes home & I try to tidy up & build toys & make tea

Dr Who then bed!

Christmas Eve - we go out for a walk in the afternoon, come back and with a hot chocolate sit and go through a photo scrapbook/journal of the year with the boys.

Then the boys put out their stockings and go to bed, DH and I put the pressies round the tree and fill the stockings for the boys then sit with a bottle of red wine nice cheese, pate & crackers.

Christmas morning -
the boys come into our bed and open their stockings (and we open ours)
downstairs for breakfast
Shower / dress
Out to church.
coffee mincepies & open pressies - in turn so we can see what we all get.
Lunch is usually about 2.30pm
out for a walk
few more pressies
tea for the boys
relax
bath & bed for boys
more wine & cheese for us!

we are at mums this year so it will be similar but perhaps more stressful!
