Any decent quality iPhone chargers and power banks that anyone has seen or could recommend?
Really need these for the tween DCs stockings. They’ve recently got phones and it’s clear we don’t have enough chargers in the house. Thanks

Anker is a good power bank brand - not the cheapest, but really much better than the super cheap “novelty” ones. But I bought these when mine were teenagers and would look after/ not lose stuff.

For chargers I do just buy cheap unbranded ones usually- the extra long 6ft ones are great. If I want a longer lasting one without paying Apple prices, I’d buy a juice brand one

Chargers I tend to buy mine the extra long nylon braided cable leads from Amazon so they can use from their beds. You can change your plug sockets cover plate to add a usb cable port in.

They both have an unbranded power pack which seems to work fine. You can get an adapter to have on a keyring rather than needing to carry a cable.

Mine were given power banks which were also hardwarmers which went down well in the freezing classrooms last year.

I get mine from Juice. Sainsbury's stock them or online.

DismantledKing · 27/11/2021 08:31

Another recommendation for Anker here. They’re the best.

I would really recommend the flat chargers you put your phone on generally. We have a couple
In the house and there’s no wear and tear on the phone point or the cable . Remind them to keep portable chargers charged - my teens are always stealing mine as I’m the only one who remembers!

alrightfella · 27/11/2021 09:54

@Noeuf I've not seen these before. do you need a special one for iPhones? And do all generations of iPhones work on these? Thanks!

Not all iPhones can do wireless charging, my daughter doesn't use hers wirelessly much anyway, teens tend to want to use their phones while they're charging. I love mine though.

A couple of years back I picked up a couple of power banks at the fill in Primark as impulse stocking filler. Excellent charge all our iPhones quickly. Was away last week and needed one as forgotten to pack so went back to Primark - and still as good!

XmasSnow20 · 27/11/2021 10:06

Oh and they’re small enough to have in your coat or hoodie pocket while phone charging so kids do not have to stop using phone!

Great recommendations - thank you

I was a bit worried about buying cheap chargers off Amazon as DH and I only have the iPhone ones. But they’re so expensive and ridiculously short. I hate Apple sometimes!

Not all - 8 and above? I agree teens tend to charge and use which is why I said generally - we have a couple for eg when in shower can leave on it or when cooking and playing music etc. Just saved the wear and tear of cables and having them trailing/in cupboards/lost

kitkatsky · 27/11/2021 11:28

I like the Amazon basic leads

RabbitFooFoo · 27/11/2021 11:35

Another recommendation for Anker, great quality and last for years.

72WayTooCool · 27/11/2021 12:19

We have several Anker leads and power banks. They are quite robust and good quality. Belkin are another good make.

Snoopsnoggysnog · 05/12/2021 09:55

Thanks for the recommendations
