The Norfolk Childrens centre bookshop recommended the Wizards of Once when we went there last but DD prefered to read The wizard in my shed by Simon Farnaby. DD is nearly 8.

We have just finished the Ickabog which was brilliant and getting the Christmas Pig and the Christmassaurus for her santa sack as she has asked FC for exciting christmas adventure books.

My son really enjoyed the Secret series by Pseudonomous Bosch at this age, or maybe very slightly older. The Murder Most Unladylike series is also very good and the Lemony Snicket books (though I personally think they are a little dark, my son loved them though!). He also enjoyed Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy around this age.

My DD loved the Emily Windsnap books and there’s lots!
Others she’s enjoyed…
Unmapped Chronicles (Abi Elphinstone)
Ickabog
Lottie Brooks
Tom Gates
Katherine Rundell books
