I've never had a real tree before - decided we would this year.

It didn't look that big in the high ceiling shop.

Looked a bit bigger as we crammed it into my mum's car.

A bit bigger still as it bashed the lampshade bringing it in.

Have just cut it open and I am missing half my lounge

Tis the best tree in the world EVER.

I hadn't been feeling very festive before now, now there is no way I can NOT feel festive when you have the tree from National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation in your lounge. I am half expecting squirrels to fly out though

Me too, Flame. I've always had a real tree, but this is the biggest bugger ever! God, I love it

LOL , we did the same. There's a place where you can cut your own tree down, and we thought it would be a nice tradition to start with the dcs.

Found a lovely tree, didn't look to big in the huge field.

Had to tie the boot lid shut.

Got it into lounge, stood it up.

It wedged at 45 degrees.

DH took it back out to the garage and chopped a couple of feet off the bottom.

Tried it again in the lounge.

It stands up but we can now only see the telly from one sofa.

About half our lounge is missing, presumed lost under the tree.

But they are so great, aren't they, so much better than the poxy fake ones.

And really, I don't need the rest of my lounge .

Buying a tree out of a field is like buying a sofa out of DFS

It will smell divine (and your room will look twice as big when you get it back!)
