Football kits - genuine or replica

My ds12 has asked for a PSG football kit. It's coming in at around £100 - does anyone know about these things and whether I can get a replica kit which is a fraction of the price?

He's not that into football and only wants it for messi the player and not because he watches them or likes the team 😂.

Does he definitely want the full kit? I used to buy the lot but it didn’t take me long to realise that my sons almost never wore the socks or the shorts. I only ever buy the shirt now.

I’ve had varying success with replicas so I usually go for the real thing, avoiding white shirts. They last forever, some of our football shirts are now on their 3rd or 4th child and still looking good.

The replicas are usually very poor quality and his friends will be able to spot it a mile off. As a child who was teased mercilessly after my parents bought me a replica Man U strip I implore you to buy him the real thing! maybe just get him the top and not the whole kit.

We get replicas (including a PSG Messi kit) from the. DHgate app, after recommendations from friends. They have all been good quality. Obviously not as good as the real thing but they wash and last well and are comfortable to wear. Might be too late for Christmas now though, although we’ve had some that only take a couple of weeks to arrive, so worth a look.
