Struggling with what to get for DD 13y

Finding it difficult to get DD anything for Christmas,
She's 13 and not at all 'girly' (in fact I wouldn't be surprised if she came out as Trans at some point) so the typical teenage girl gifts such as bath products, body spray make up ect are a definite no go.
She wants to be an animator and loves drawing but not in the traditional way (pencil and paper) she does it all digitally and already has all the software she needs for it so yet again not much help in the way of gifts, we have family Spotify accounts so no need for CDs same with dvds we have lots of streaming services.
She did love reading when she was younger but doesn't seem to be interested in books these days, I did ask If she would like any books but just got the 'don't know' response. Me and DH are big gamers and quite nerdy but she isn't interested in any of that, all her hobbies seem to be done on her phone/laptop which she already has everything she needs for, just wanted to see if any one else is/has been in a similar situation and if any one has any ideas on what I should get.

My DD is almost 12. New game for her Switch. New chair for the desk in her room. Track suit. Trainers. New bag that she requested for school. Craft - art stuff

Cherryrainbow · 23/11/2021 21:02

Is she into studio ghibli or pixar etc? There's loads of nice books about the art behind the films or the process of animating them that might get her interest. Or a framed art print?

If she has a collection of art work she's sent you or has online could you find a way of stealthily having her work made into a book, like in the way of making personalised photo albums and put a personalised message with it?

lollipopsandrainbows · 23/11/2021 21:05

My DD13 is getting an Apple Watch and air pods. She's literally asked for nothing so I've gone for what I think she would like but would never ask for as I'm always telling her I'm skint (I've been saving all year for Xmas).

MaudebeGonne · 23/11/2021 21:20

Even though she is into digital art would she like a nice set of alcohol markers and sketchbook just for a change of medium? My daughter does both and she likes to Uhuhu brand. One of my friends is getting her teen a light projector for her room. Backpack? Pop socket or new phone case?

WhatonEarth1 · 24/11/2021 04:16

Vans, Converses or Doc Martens
Giant beanbag
LED strip lights or lava lamp
Hotel Chocolat velvetiser
Bluetooth shower speaker
Overnight bag
Digital photo frame

RAFHercules · 24/11/2021 06:50

What music is she into? Would tickets to a concert work?

MrsPleasant · 24/11/2021 07:03

Mine is completely non girly also, if I bought her a bath bomb and a lip gloss she would think I'd gone mad. Some things that have been hits:
Sprocket
Lightsaber chopsticks
Walkman and cassettes
Gig tickets
Messenger bag
New Cons

Thehogfatherstolemycurry · 24/11/2021 07:10

She sounds like my 13 year old. She likes to draw though.
I've got her canvases, alcohol markers, acrylic paints.
Boots
Backpack
Aftershave (she prefares it to perfume)
Anime hoodie
Pj's
Cash

Howmanysleepsnow · 24/11/2021 07:37

Mine liked LED lights for her room, a mini fridge, Apple Watch. This year’s presents include a candy floss maker, clothes, a couple of wooden puzzles she asked for and Echo Boy by Matt Haig.

Howmanysleepsnow · 24/11/2021 07:38

Oh, she also likes her HP sprocket

Beamur · 24/11/2021 07:43

Similar age here. Getting a new rucksack, teddy fleece scarf, beanie, some clothes for a sport she does and a lesson with a local artist.

reluctantbrit · 24/11/2021 08:36

Backpack
Can you get some of her pictures made into a print or photo blanket?
Anything for her room?
Is there anything related to her art? Exhibition? Courses? One-off things you could combine with travel?

Lovemusic33 · 24/11/2021 08:56

My teens are not girl either (dd1 is into LBGT).

Dd2 love Lego technics so is getting a big set.
Dd1 is getting switch games, controllers and a Amazon prime stick.

Other things I have bought them include…
A fake oodie
Larva lamp
Lush CBD bubble bar (about the only smelly thing she likes).
Guess who (RSPB version as she likes birds).
Kinder selection box

Loudestcat14 · 24/11/2021 08:58

Ours sounds v. similar re: artistic interests – we've getting ours an Apple pen so she can do more art on her iPad. A first gen one, as they're cheaper in the Black Friday sale.

ObsidianViolet · 24/11/2021 12:21

Really good suggestions here, definitely given me some inspiration!
For those asking about music she doesn't really listen to proper bands that much (not enough for concert tickets) she really likes some guy from YouTube dawko or something like that, oh she's also mad on five nights at Freddies but pretty much has every merch going already

I'd recommend against doing anything using her art unless you're absolutely 100% sure she'd be into it. She might well find it cringe and awkward.

Would she like money? I know it's boring but some kids do. Try the Urban Outfitters home section, also, for bedroom stuff - lots of lighting options, pillows, etc. Comfortable stuff without being girly.

BashfulClam · 24/11/2021 23:57

Oodies seem to be really popular, chillis bottle, any clothes she likes?

Feckauras · 25/11/2021 00:36

Apple pen and procreate app if she’s an iPad
Chilly bottle
Candy kittens
Adobe creative cloud student subscription
Oodie
Hot chocolate bombs
Led strip lighting for around her tv/monitor
New Upgraded mouse
Japanese sweets
Hoody/socks (look at truffle shuffle)
Pyjamas (again truffle shuffle do some funky ones)
