What goes on top of your tree?

We have had several things go on top of the tree previous years but this year I’m trying to go traditional. When growing up we had a really tacky star on the top of the tree, it had a light in it as part of the string of tree lights, everyone else seemed to have a angel.

So what sits at the top of your tree?

A bright pink flamingo with a feathery tail. This is because JL had sold out of angels when we went to buy one, so we decided to be different!

I have a big velvet bow at the top of ours. I sometimes put a star on, depending on what other decorations I’ve used and if we have a real tree or use the artificial one. Some can’t take the weight of the star. I have a red one with cutouts in the metal and a gold, wire one with holly woven around it.

DM used to put up a fairy that had seen better days when I was little. She looked bedraggled like she’d just got home from the work Christmas do!

I think I want a really tacky fairy 🤣
This year I’m getting a real tree for the first time so I’m guessing i need something light?

A blue glittery dragonfly as I could not find a star I liked so asked DSD to just pick something. It was only meant to be a stop gap but here we all are five years later...

We’ve always had an Angel in our family. My daughter has my grandmother’s one on a little tree in her room, we have the Angel my Grandmother bought us the first year we were married on the main tree.

An angel I bought for the first Xmas in the first home I bought. Over 30 years old now.

I've got a mini wooly hat that I made!

A wooly angel, togged up in scarf and hat. Bought last year but I'm hoping she'll last.
