Ok which is the best panettone?

I feel like it's a secret I've not been let into - every time I've tried to buy one it's been hard, dry or weird. But I know I like them as have had good ones other times. And I just want one in my kitchen at Christmas time, they're so beautiful...

Has to come in a pretty box. Chocolate being involved is a big plus too.

We had one from Sainsburys Taste the Difference last year that was lovely, it was orange flavoured, no chocolate though although they did a chocolate version

Carluccios is my favourite

The one from Costco is the best one I’ve tried.

Aldi always do a good one.

I don’t eat them ‘raw’ so to speak - I buy one to make into a caramel pannatone bread and butter pudding. So for my purposes, any will do. Lidl is always reliably okay.

A little Italian deli in town does the best ones I’ve found. However Aldi do a pretty good one too.

Another vote for Costco. Comes in a pretty tin and there is a chocolate version too.

Beware the dish. If you use something precious it will crack as the caramel is mighty Vesuvius hot. I use a rectangular enamel dish. Pyrex would probably work too. Enjoy!

It is soaked in wine - so not child friendly - but it is delicious! Sadly not cheap.

Based on some substantial trialling this year, my vote is going to Sainsburys. My waistline is not thanking me
