For my son from people asking me what to get. He's sporty and loves cricket and football and gaming
Being asked for gift ideas for about £10
Any ideas? £10 doesn't go far. I'm thinking a cool book but what? Or gaming accessory ?
I've used most ideas for myself 😂

£10 for a twenty really doesn't go far.

How about a gift card for Spotify, iTunes, x box, does he like the cinema?

A wirless phone charger?
Typo have a sale on and have water dispenser on sale for £14, got my ds 16 one as he always has water. Figured if he filled it with oxygen cold water it would last the day.

WhatonEarth1 · 21/11/2021 16:15

Shot in the Dark card game
Big Potato Bucket of Doom
Perplexus - the Revolution Runner and Rebel versions are about the £10 mark
Thames & Kosmos The Abandoned Cabin escape game
Heat change mug
Mug cake kit
LED beanie hat

Comedycook · 21/11/2021 16:17

I was also going to suggest a gift card...maybe a gaming one?

Branded hat, water bottle, wallet?

Portable phone charger?

MichaelGovesBeard · 21/11/2021 16:22

Personally I’d suggest xbox/gaming whatever £10 gift card and a big bar of chocolate. Can’t go wrong.

doorornottodoor · 21/11/2021 16:30

We got my sportsmad son a base layer/skin with his nickname down the sleeve. He loves it.

doorornottodoor · 21/11/2021 16:31

Ooops sorry obviously more than £10! Football socks? Amazon vouchers always good.

polkadotpjs · 21/11/2021 17:53

It is awful isn't it that £10 doesn't buy much. I might ask for a sweetie selection - when you mentioned large bar chocolate a lightbulb went off. He LOVES chocolate. Well all food really
Phone charger cables foo- they disappear. A lot

Ooh water bottle is a brilliant shout too. He loses them with a frequency that's startling

my teens want vouchers for their games console.
or vouchers towards a new controller.

TwigTheWonderKid · 21/11/2021 18:02

Agree with everything everyone else has said but if you were after a book, this gets great reviews www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/152913532X?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title&tag=mumsnetforu03-21

crumpet · 21/11/2021 18:04

You can get gaming vouchers for Steam if that’s his thing

Cherrytart23 · 21/11/2021 18:06

When am asked what should be bought for ds14 I say giftcard for playstore for ps4 family are happy todo this as 1 saves them shopping about and 2 they know he can then buy something he wants. He usually ends up with about £60 an can buy one of the latest games he wants.

polkadotpjs · 21/11/2021 18:24

One relative likes to give a physical gift but those who offer cash will not be discouraged. I need to ask about my friend now...will hop on bargain thread

My son sounds similar to OP's. He loves sports biographies especially cricket - let me know if that sounds possible and I'll get the low down on the best ones!

delilahbucket · 21/11/2021 19:38

Portable charger
Gift card for cinema/coffee shop/Amazon if you don't want to encourage more gaming
Aftershave samples

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 21/11/2021 19:42

I got my son one of those massive 2l water bottles for his 14th birthday and it was one of his favourite gifts. It was slightly more than £10 but you can probably get cheaper versions.
Brightly coloured sports socks are also a big hit!

WhyAmIDoingIt · 21/11/2021 19:50

If anyone wanted to give my sons £10 gift I'd just say put a tenner in a card
Then he can save it or spend it on what he likes 👍🏻

polkadotpjs · 21/11/2021 20:05

I'm actually now really excited about getting him "bits" from us now I have great ideas. 🙏
