I guess there is are 3d pens and 3d pens aren't there.

Any thing else for 14,she adores nice clothes and jewelry has excellent taste but not into nails or make up or anything like that.
Loves reading but hates kindles.
I've already got her a new duvet her current one is lumpy and heavy. So I've got her a beautifully light fluffy duvet. I was thinking about a new duvet cover also but that's not that exciting is it.
I was also thinking of skiing lessons at local ish ski slope?
Maybe some lush stuff...

Oh she does like to sketch and draw and would probably like fancy felt tips? And she likes anime

I've no knowledge of 3d pens but saw one on Lidl today, probably not the quality you're looking for but it was £24.99 I think

Kindlethefourth · 20/11/2021 22:03

Some gorgeous fluffy duvet covers out there if she likes snuggling and being cosy. In this vein also heated blankets, fairy lights, pyjamas.

Bunce1 · 20/11/2021 22:06

Posca pens a for drawing on wood/rocks
Weighted blanket
Quirky cushion
Bean bag
Fairy lights
Box easel
Earring making kit
Crystals
Essential oil diffuser
Skin care stuff (not makeup)
Bullet journal and fine liner pens

Instead of a 3D pen could your budget stretch to a printer? The ender 3 is the cheaper end but prints beautifully

Kerantli · 21/11/2021 02:43

At 14 and an interest in drawing/sketching/anime, I'd look into some alcohol markers if she likes traditional pen/paper sketching. Ohuhu markers can be found on amazon and are a good beginners set with colours similar to Copic, but a fraction of the price if she doesn't get on with them.

If she's more of a digital artist, a graphics tablet could be a winner, Huion is one brand I know of (admittedly via a youtube channel), as well as Wacom.

While I do think that a 3d printer would be a better option over a 3d pen, it wouldn't work too well if she wants to make the 3d item herself in the way 3d pens draw

Thanksagainand · 21/11/2021 05:29

I don’t know if pens have got better but we got one a few years ago for dd and the fumes from it were awful, especially as she was bending over it to use it. We sent it back.

Naughtynovembertree · 21/11/2021 08:11

Some great ideas thanks, she's not into skin care and doesn't use anything I have already got her.

@Kerantli @ @Legoisawesome

What is this printer you mean please?. She's never mentioned a 3d pen I just thought it might be something fun to try.

The art ideas for anime etc are fabulous thank you, she likes sketching with pens ect

She also loves photography
We got her a camera last year but she doesn't use it much and a mini sprocket printer.

If you are looking at nice blankets lots of sellers on ebay are selling silent night weighted blankets cheap, maybe worth considering?

WellTidy · 21/11/2021 08:26

I have a 13yo boy who never asks for anything. It makes gift giving really challenging, especially as family ask for ideas too. I’ve had to think of things at every price point!

Ideas:

Power bank charger thing for on the go
Phone holder
Debit card case
Novels
Tic tabs in random flavours
Fanta in random flavours
Hot chocolate sachets - D’s likes the flavours from hotel chocolat
Gnaw hot chocolate stirrers
Orange tennis balls - easier to find in the garden
Travel mug
PJs
A game for his switch with a hook explaining the nuances of the game
Tickets to see Dear Evan Hansen
A sports shirt
New jeans

A bike?

For a creative child:

Last year I put it here there a set of stones, spray varnish, acrylic paints and acrylic paint pens and a book with stone decorating ideas

I have also done a shoebox of different fimo and fimo soft, with a set of tools and a book of ideas

Naughtynovembertree · 21/11/2021 08:36

I have got her an electric blanket last year so no weighted ones.

Phone case is a very good idea hers is really bashed.

Power Bank charger also a great idea

Well tidy, for relatives I think giving money is best
It's getting so hard as they get older and who doesn't love a card with money in it.

A 3d printer is, as it says, a printer that can print 3d models. DP got one for his birthday last year and has printed out quite a few things, but it can require a lot of patience and time to get it to work at its best, so not really something that is suitable for someone that hasn't expressed an interest in 3d printing.

On the topic of alcohol markers, this youtuber did two videos on the best alcohol markers that are currently available, I've linked part 2 as that has the winners - - which is worth a watch.

mamabluestar · 21/11/2021 18:17

My DD is of a similar age - we went shopping with relatives yesterday for her Christmas presents. It's a tradition from when my nieces were younger, plus she doesn't really know what there is to ask for - if that makes sense.

She choose some jewellery, a big fluffy blanket and a cuddle cushion. She would also like some fake plants and led lights.

I have bought her some Harry Potter lego and merchandise, some perfume, aldi's version of the velvetiser; which I'm going to make into a hamper with different hot chocolate powders, a nice mug etc, I've brought a few different phone cases (from Shein and ebay so not expensive) and I'm going to get her a popsocket slide with different tops (she has my old phone and has taken my old case so she can swop them over every so often- I remember loving doing this with a watch with removable straps I was bought as a teen). We have bought concert tickets too.

In the past she has been bought thinkfun / smart IQ type single player games and these are still regular brought out

MacavityTheDentistsCat · 21/11/2021 21:43

A decent portable speaker. That was DD's favourite present last year (so when she was 15).

Naughtynovembertree · 23/11/2021 21:49

Thank you, I'm making notes of all of these.
She took a beautiful scenic picture the other day so I may get that made into a canvas or picture.

I got DD some of amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07XZ3NM8V these]] a year or two ago (she is 15 and likes photography). She also has one of those apps that gives you free prints every month for just postage and now has an ever-changing photography exhibition in her bedroom.

RaoulDufysCat · 23/11/2021 22:02

Oops. amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07XZ3NM8V]]

If she likes art, the Uhuhu alcohol markers mentioned by someone else are great. Also Posca pens.
