Mobile phone for DD

I’m looking for a mobile phone for my dd. Hoping to get a cheap refurbished one, it will be her first phone. I’m thinking iPhone just because that’s what I have. Does anyone know the best (earliest) model I can buy that won’t stop working as soon as I get it? I was thinking the iPhone 7 but worried as the 6 now won’t run updates that that might only have a year or so left? Or an alternative phone that’s not an iPhone would also be good (I just don’t know much about their models and the order they are in). Thank you.

Maybe an iPhone SE 2nd generation, it's the budget one, relatively new April 2020. Only thing to note is needs Bluetooth earphones as no Jack point.

Which iPhone do you have ?? It's going to come down to budget and whether you are going to pay for it monthly or buy upfront ?

Thank you, I’ll have a look at that one. I have the iPhone X I think (the 10). Son has iPhone XR and dh has Samsung S21.
Usually I would have given her our old phone but we decided not to upgrade this time and just get cheap sims.
Budget is probably cheap as possible as she’s only 10, it’s her first phone and I don’t want the worry of a broken phone that’s why I thought of just getting a cheap refurbished one and cheap sim.
