Scleich worth the money? Good alternatives welcome!

DD is animal crazy and horse obsessed so I have been looking at the Scleich (Sp?) Horse club sets for her for Christmas, my thinking is I can buy the main stables and expensive sets and some ponies, but if DD really enjoys it I can add to it at a later date for her birthday, as can family if they are stuck for ideas. But are they worth the money (they seem to hold value really well second hand too) or is there a better, cheaper "set" for a pony mad preschooler?

My daughter collected schleich horses for years; beautifully made, sturdy didn't break and when she finally out grew then we sold them on eBay and made a fortune back.

It is worth the money.

My dd was horse mad and has a massive collection.
They were well played with for many years.
They are in great condition.
She is 22 now and she wont part with them. They are all boxed up in her room.
My ds had a lot of the dinosaurs and zoo animals and they are like new after years of play.

Costco have a horse set. A stable with arena. It's really good value. I've got a pic of it. If you are interested I can pop it on here

Schleich and Papo are great quality. We have a mix of some new, and some from eBay we got as a job lot - they definitely last really well.

Schleich are fabulous. And I think your idea for a gift that can be added to later is great too.

DD has a couple of Papo Ponies which she adores, but the stable sets didn't looks quite as good as the schleich ones. The schleich ponies look similar sized though.. does anyone know if the Papo ponies would possibly fit into Schleich stables 🤔
