7 men and 1 female.
What to buy, how much to spend?
I'd rather get similar each rather than a unique gift each.

I wouldn’t think too deeply about this and just go for some chocolates each

Defiantly41 · 19/11/2021 21:49

Wine! Waitrose usually do a great offer before Christmas of 10 different wines for £10 years achieved that normally retail for £15-£18.

And/or some good chocolates - Hotel Chocolat or similar

Itsnotdeep · 19/11/2021 21:52

I posted about this too this week OP. I think that the Green & Blacks gift boxes look good actually. I haven't looked at Hotel Chocolat but will do.

JetBlackSteed · 19/11/2021 22:19

I would strongly agree you need to get them all the same.
I just get a box of Hotel Chocolate delivered, to suit your budget.
Nice enough to be a treat and an expression of thanks for a year of hard work.

There was a similar thread recently where it was suggested that a lovely Christmas tree bauble would be a good gift.
If you know your reports well enough to know they drink, a bottle of wine or Prosecco would be great. But make sure you don't have any non-drinkers in the team.
Green and Blacks or Hotel Chocolat also good but again, I have a friend who can't eat chocolate, another who doesn't like it, and another who just tries not to eat it because once she starts she can't stop.
Or you could buy them a festive plant (Poinsettia or similar) to decorate their desks and then take home.

Hairyfriend · 19/11/2021 22:49

What do you want to spend each? Any idea? Depending on the role it would clearly differ drastically. I would spend a max of £10, but it really depends on your team and even IF you need to buy gifts at all? A card might be sufficient and/or a token gift.

Obviously pending vegans, non-drinkers, or other preferences, here are some ideas:

  • Woolen scarf and/or gloves
  • Alcohol- bottle of port, brandy, sloe gin, wine
  • Quirky bottle opener
  • Nice hot chocolate/marshmallow/mug set
  • House plant
  • BBQ tool/apron

I’m getting mine this cheese selection www.ocado.com/products/m-s-cheeseboard-favourites-566626011, a box of nice cheese biscuits and a jar of homemade chutney.

I think 15 to 20 is my budget.

It's been a hard year and they've had to step up their game. Which they have to be honest.

I will need to post some gifts so HC may well be the way forward with an xmas dec.

Thank you.

What about a £20 voucher instead?

Hairyfriend · 20/11/2021 17:40

A small hamper: crackers, medjool dates, florentines, nice biscuits, hot chocolate, bottle of wine/port.

Ahh, just saw you'll need to post the items!

Box of chocolates

I manage a team a bit bigger than yours all women and this year have gone for a small rituals gift set as they all rave about rituals!
Cost me more than my planned budget but they’ve had a terrible 18 months and I want to show I appreciate them.

Def get everyone the same gift!

HermioneWeasley · 20/11/2021 19:45

I buy mine a bottle of champagne each, but I’m lucky that they all like it!
