My 6 year old boy is into spy stuff so he is getting a spy handbook and some secret writing pens in his stocking. He also likes board games so he is getting a couple of those. Also a couple of pieces of software for the computer (I think one is something to do with zoo animals). Also famous five audio book on CD. He loves Horrid Henry but I refuse to buy him any

oh and i got him a new venus fly trap as our last one has just died after 2 years of love and affection (we used to catch flies for it and feed it, perfect 6 year old entertainment for less than a fiver...)
