I have just returned from my DS preschool Christmas concert and Party.(We are currently on secondment in Bermuda).

It was wondrful and so different to last year when we were in the UK.

Parents were allowed to take picture and video the kids singing, Santa Claus arrived on a fire truck with presents and each child sat on Santas knee quite happily and chatted to him.

Parents all brought food co -odrianted by the teachers.

Last year in the UK
No Photos/filming
No Santa or presents in case offends other religions.( Even if there was, no doubt it would be classed as improper to sit on Santa's knee)
No food allowed to be brought in from outside the premises incase of food poisoning.

My son and his friends had a fantastic time, it was great team spitit by the parents and we have the memories capture on camera.

it is great that you had a lovely time - but we live in the UK and have had a very similar H&S free christmas filming & photo's allowed - Father Christmas & Nativity play lovely - food all donated by mums..
I just wanted to point out that not everywhere in the UK is as bad as all that.
I am VV envious that you are in bermuda - Hmm damp and cold here!!

Glad you had a fantastic nativity - it sounds as if he has settled in well!

santa might offend other religions?

Video-ing, Santa, presents, class party with unregulated offerings all evident at DS's London primary! (in fact personally I feel some trepidation about the provenance and preparation some of the food which will be brought, but will quash those feelings and take heart from the fact that Ds is usually too excited to eat anything at all)
