Vouchers?

Or could he take them both away to a nice hotel for a night in the New Year?

isaidhohoho · 14/12/2007 17:52

does she have any hobbies?

isaidhohoho · 14/12/2007 17:53

my mum asked my dad for an ipod - not something I thought she'd want in a million years!

SquonkaClaus · 14/12/2007 17:55

oh god, my dad did this every year till we discovered he'd had a mistress for twelve years and she divorced him!

Some presents that she got before the divorce:

A nice, thick, woollen winter coat
A nightie, pyjama, dressing gown set
A very expensive handbag
A picture to hang on the wall (an expensive one, I don't mean that I took him to Athena)

denbury · 14/12/2007 17:55

how about a years membership for national trust.my parents loved planning a weekend doing something they wouldn't normally do

ChristmasShinySnowflakes · 14/12/2007 17:55

Theatre tickets?

BadKittenInAPearTree · 14/12/2007 17:56

ipod thingy? (you never know lol!)
fleecy throw for bed
has she got a computer? new printer, webcam?
digital radio
I think theres a company that sends posh chocolate once a month
binoculars
cinema vouchers
watch
pay to have her oven cleaned (might be a bit insulting that one!)
new handbag

CremolaFirCone · 14/12/2007 20:07

thanks everyone.I should have said a t the beginning that she is impossible to please.Nothing is ever 'right'but at the same time she cannot describe what she would like. dad gets into a right state every year because of her behaviour. But HE has had all blimmin year to find out from her what she might like and then gets into victim mode when she tells him off for getting the wrong thing.
They have been married for 45 years ffs.
i despair.

she takes nearly everything back anyway.
Possibly a fab handbag. They go away on mini breaks all the sodding time.I work in a ticket office so they also get to all the concerts they want. She is the ultimate in impossible as she buys herself anything she wants before you can get to it.lol

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh

paulaplumpbottom · 14/12/2007 20:10

jo malone

pantoinghousewife · 14/12/2007 20:10

Cashmere jumper.

CremolaFirCone · 14/12/2007 20:13

you are going to hate me SEA but she has so much in the way of antique silver boxes and so on- family heirlooms. All the stuff she has is inherited and extremely posh.
Last year i got her Chelsea Flower show tickets. She love plants and flowers, but couldn't bear the idea of going to london- so that was a complete waste of money.
