I have a real tree and can't for the life of me think what I should stand it in.

I hae a bucket. What do i put in the bucket which will enable me to water the tree.

I know i 'should' have got one with a root ball and then I could have just put soil in but I din't. HELP. It's outside soaking in a bucket full of water

You can buy tree stands. They have screws that screw into the tree to keep it upright. I find that these are really the best thing. They aren't as sturdy in a bucket

Have you got some bricks/big stones? You might be able to wedge it in the bucket with those.

We have a metal Christmas tree stand thing that I bought last year as I was fed up of dealing with this dilemma.

I used to saw a few cms off the tree trunk, before standing it in a bucket full of shingle or gravel. This was then topped up with water. It was good and steady and heavy! Even a norway spruce would hold on to most of its needles until New Year. You can decorate the bucket with xmas paper or material.

Ah, I have gravel outside so will probably do that tomorrow
