I wish someone would ask this question about me! Crochet is my favourite thing.
A big bag of yarn in her favourite colours. Some new stuff to try (I've just ordered tshirt yarn to make a mat). I think the project bags are quite a funny one, I have bags of wool all over so dont use those. Where does she keep her supplies? Theres those honey comb shaped shelves that wool stacks nicely in,.or pretty baskets to store it in. Nice snips/ scissors.
Those subscription boxes look amazing too

Sadik · 18/11/2021 16:44

For MY christmas present I might ask my dad to buy me this wool as DD has promised to make me a properly rainbow jumper, and that looks like the perfect colours :)

I’ve asked for:

  • light up crochet hooks
  • set of Tunisian crochet hooks
  • pattern books, mostly amigurumi
  • vouchers for yarn (for generic projects)
  • pretty hand dyed yarn and other nice yarn that I wouldn’t treat myself to
  • voucher for Etsy to buy patterns

For my birthday in the New Year, I’m probably going to ask for a storage and transport bag, one with quite a large compartment for yarn and space for quite a few balls.

On my wish list for when money is no concern, buying a full set of pretty crochet hooks www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1091799230/hand-turned-clover-amour-size-j-6-mm?ref=lx_share

I once bought her what I thought was a lovely ergonomic crochet hook with a padded handle and she didn't get on with it. Just uses the cheap shiny plastic ones. Keeps everything in a carrier bag. She'd love some expensive wool I'm sure.

I'm fussy about crochet hooks, I can't get on with the ones with curved shaped handles (eg Addi swing hook) or the plain metal ones, I like the soft Pony ones or the Knitpro ones. Also dislike bamboo hooks or any where the hook part is very short.

Books wise - I mainly make blankets, si I like square patterns also amirugami, I don't do clothes apart from the occasional scarf. Some people prefer Uk terminology to American too, so it does depend on a few things

Enko · 18/11/2021 18:27

How about a Sophies universe kit or a Ubuntu kit

Don't buy crochet hooks unless asked for i only use one type and ita a waste when others buy for me. Easy has gorgeous crochet hook storage in wood

That crochet hook is gorgeous!

I’d be interested to know if you find a bag that fits your criteria.

How about a Sophies universe kit or a Ubuntu kit

I've just googled those and the website may as well be written in Greek 😂

I would never be sad to get an Attic 24 pack of yarn. Or some Scheepies.

rrhuth · 18/11/2021 18:41

I'd like loads of this wool: www.wildandwoollyshop.co.uk/shop/yarn/lett-lopi/

maofteens · 18/11/2021 19:04

Good quality yarn - my sister knits and is always on the lookout.

Ubuntu

I’ve made both of these, they’re fabulous!

ExcessiveIyDisorganised · 19/11/2021 07:04

I wouldn't like to be given any sort of kit unless I had chosen it myself, in fact I'd rather not be bought yarn either as I'm fussy.

Tunisian crochet hooks and a pattern book would be good though.

Sadik · 19/11/2021 08:37

An Ubuntu kit really confused me, I was imagining some kind of open source Linux based programme for generating crochet patterns Grin

Postdatedpandemic · 19/11/2021 20:29

Silk yarn www.etsy.com/uk/shop/willowknits? makes the most sumptuous hats, I've managed to get in the bath with mine.

A set of Clover crochet hooks please. Or Tulip Etimo, if your budget stretches that far! Better still, a voucher for LoveCrafts or John Lewis will do instead :)

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 20/11/2021 02:32

@CharlottesWebinar

An Attic24 blanket kit and a set of clover amour hooks. Bliss
This would be my choice too, with a Prym storage bag www.johnlewis.com/prym-canvas-craft-bag-grey/p5607675

Though I am fascinated and slightly bemused by the idea of crocheted trousers!

Nat6999 · 20/11/2021 02:55

Stitch markers, needles for sewing up & weaving in ends, nice sharp scissors, pom pom maker, a work bag or box.

GorgeousGary · 20/11/2021 03:26

Something lovely to keep her crochet stuff in (plastic bag Shock (grin])

I'd go for something like this...www.basketbasket.co.uk/product-127-large-drawstring-shopper my Mum has one she keeps her current sewing project in and she loves it. Easy to get stuff in and out of and not snaggy

Ps I am also curious about the crochet trousers!

GorgeousGary · 20/11/2021 03:28

I have approx 2.6 million stitch markers so I wouldn't want any more.

Kikkomam · 20/11/2021 08:21

Crochet trousers are very popular if you are an extremely slim teen She's made 3 pairs and sold them to friends.that basket looks good actually thanks

I love my red tulip etimo hooks. Means I can see dark wool easily. Would also love a voucher for wool.

CrochetBug · 20/11/2021 08:49

I can confirm that crochet trousers are very comfortable. I am neither slim nor a teen. But I don't wear them out of the house Grin
