My daughter is 10 and a half.

I would say quite a young 10 year old as we live rurally and she spends any and all of her free time with her pony.

I think still a believer but probably very much on the cusp, her Santa list has not one single thing that isn’t for the above pony or for her to wear when riding.

What is everyone buying their daughters around about that age who aren’t interested in makeup, room decor/accessories or plastic toys oh wait that me Grin

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 18/11/2021 20:27

DD is almost 10. She likes antique collectables, so I've scoured vintage fairs and second-hand shops and found her a pewter box with a dragon on the lid (she loves dragons) and several little glass animals (including a dragon!) to add to her collection. Smile

LoveFall · 18/11/2021 20:30

How about a book on how to draw animals (that includes ponies), some good drawing pencils and a sketch book ?

SinoohXaenaHide · 19/11/2021 09:21

Unstable Unicorns boardgame
Or Exploding Kittens boardgame

Myotherface · 19/11/2021 09:27

Lucky girls with the ponies!!

My daughter has asked for an easel and some art supplies.

Fidgets are also a massive hit with her but they bother me a bit because of the climate change and them being really just plastic junk (sorry to be a Scrooge).

Board games and oodie possible going on the list here too. And a Starbucks voucher. I think she wants that more than anything.

My DD is 11 and it does feel a tough age to buy. Not playing with toys but I know she'd like things she can do something with on Christmas Day rather than clothes and makeup.

MrsFoxyplease · 19/11/2021 09:36

Adidas/Nike t-shirts, leggings and hoodies.
Skinnydip disney water bottle
Malteasers truffles
Melting snowman putty
Chromebook & case

Cluedo

Cool Water perfume
Beanbag

Loveatthe5anddime · 19/11/2021 09:52

Thank you for all your suggestions...

She is the youngest of 3 DD’s and I think possibly makes it trickier as there are a lot of things that we already have in the house in one shape or form ie Instax cameras, sprockets, Alexa etc and she hasn’t really shown a interest in much of it.

She likes wildlife, foraging etc, she also loves making a “potion” and did wonder about combining the two and see if I could get a book or kit on remedies/fun spells etc (not sure of that’s too out there!!)

She still loves her Maileg and keeping special things in baskets with lids, trinket boxes etc so looking for nice options there.

On a more “normal kid” 🤣 note she does love her horsey vloggers making videos on her iPad etc and did did wonder about getting a child’s vlog set, tripod etc, has anyone seen anything like that?

I know it links back to the pony a bit and you might be wanting to avoid this but it would suit the foraging angle. Lots of things I’m hedgerows etc are excellent for ponies- like cleavers (sticky willow) etc that can either be picked and fed directly or dried and added to feeds- she could make her own supplements to add to feeds that way if you get a book on it.

Loveatthe5anddime · 19/11/2021 10:06

@Haventhadaneggsinceeaster love this idea, will check it out thank you!
