Superhero gift for a 5 year old boy

WhenTheDragonsCame · 17/11/2021 21:43

I have to buy a Christmas present for a 5 year old boy I do not know. He has requested something to do with superheroes and it should be around £20. My DC were not interested in superheroes at 5 so I have no idea what to get.

Does anyone have any suggestions please?

Superhero lego set

MsChatterbox · 17/11/2021 21:44

I would also ask the parents if there's any he doesn't have like figurine wise!

Newdad19 · 17/11/2021 21:47

I have 2 boys who love superheroes. The main hit for ours is either costumes (you can get a captain America shield/hulk hands/thot hammer/thanks gauntlet etc) and action figures. You often get a set of the main avengers for a good price

Newdad19 · 17/11/2021 21:48

Just to add there's a few marvel items in the eBay Black Friday seller sale where you can get 20% off the price until midnight tonight

I don't know the child or the parents and have no way of contacting them. This is for a scheme at work so I really don't want to disappoint him.

Action figures might be good. The set I saw didn't look very good quality so I will look around. I'll probably add a sticker book and a few other small things.

Superhero walkie talkies

@Newdad19 thank you. I'll have a look.

Really sorry that auto corrected there. Walkie talkies

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 17/11/2021 22:13

Hard to know what they have already if you don't know them but super hero costumes were my sons' and my nephews' best ever Christmas presents (they still talk about them every Christmas now they are adults)

WhenTheDragonsCame · 17/11/2021 22:24

@RockingMyFiftiesNot yes it is hard. Some times the request is very specific and sometimes it’s like this with just a theme.

Imaginext was always popular with my boys and very robust! Huge collection of superhero toys in your price range too

Topbird29 · 18/11/2021 02:13

If you don't know which superhero they may like, the ones that are most recognisable and commonly known are probably superman, batman and spiderman. I reckon a spiderman dress up costume would be good, or a batman imaginext set - you might be able to get a batmobile with batman figure for your budget.

Topbird29 · 18/11/2021 02:15

You can also get lego mech suits with figures for around £12 - £15 - iron man is a good one. They might need help building that though, and not as instantly playable as imaginext. The entertainer or smyths will have something. I have 2 lego and superhero fans here!

ThiagoSilvasToe · 18/11/2021 02:23

My son loved the giant Hulk hands at that age.

saleorbouy · 18/11/2021 07:03

Dress up hero set.
Lego have Capt America robot sets.
Duvet set of hero, spiderman or Batman.

MsChatterbox · 18/11/2021 20:19

If you're doing a costume I would do spiderman over hulk. If they're anything like my son, pretending to be hulk is a recipe for disaster. Pretending to be spiderman not so bad.

Lemonnhoney · 18/11/2021 20:21

My son loves imaginext toys. They do lots but do a whole batman range. Any of the vehicles are great.

user33323 · 18/11/2021 20:24

I would say Imaginext (lots of DC stuff) or Playskool Heroes (Spiderman and avengers). They are chunkier figures and the perfect size for that age. Or a Lego juniors Marvel set.

B&M always have a great superhero collection & at this time of year usually get offers.

Costume or action figure/toy car
