Clothes for pre-teen...HELP!

So, I'm trying to get a start on Christmas shopping and have become unstuck in trying to figure out what to buy for DCousin (more like a DN to me though) age 10.

I don't like most of the River Island stuff as it's either got slogans such as 'Diva' 'Sassy' or 'You got this girl' etc on it. DN is quiet, not too flashy in her style but cool edge to it such as Doc Martens and oversized sweatshirts which is what we've bought her in the past,

However this year, due to not being out and about as much and seeing new styles, I am stuck with what sort of clothes are pre teens wearing these days, crop tops aside as she would not want to wear one as she's quite self conscious

Thank you

There's some nice stuff in matalan and new look in terms of oversized hoodies etc. H&m is lovely too - some nice faux fur jackets and such. I'd try and get something that fits her usual style rather than follow the trends, but if u do I think pink and monochrome patterns like hounds tooth/check is in atm x

Hype?
Next?

My twelve year old niece likes both of these brands.

Thank you both! Yeah I want to fit with her style, it's a hard balance of fashion and age appropriate at pre teen age I find!

My dd11 is like this exactly.
Try bershka and pull and bear. I find so much in store though rather than online.

Sumlove · 17/11/2021 18:37

I have found nice bits in H&M for my dd11. Also Next, and new look. But agree with you - river island is mainly awful. DD likes their jeans though.

BluebellsGreenbells · 17/11/2021 18:43

I’ve brought a great hoodie from Goose and Gander.
Have a look at some independent retailers.

Also sure she may fit adult sizes - DD was an 8 at aged 10 - worth mentioning

WhatonEarth1 · 17/11/2021 18:44

My DD doesn’t really have a style at the moment. I’ve recently bought this oversized jumper and sweatshirt from H&M. Also, this hoodie from Mango.

HPandTheNeverEndingBedtime · 17/11/2021 18:45

DD likes qwertee tshirts. Also for lounging around she likes hollister as they are super soft.

New Look’s 9-15 range is pretty good.

PunkAssMoFo · 17/11/2021 18:51

My almost ten year old likes Abercrombie for comfy stuff and Zara usually has a wide variety of ‘looks’. We get basics from H&M.

SlurpleThePurple · 17/11/2021 18:53

Would really recommend Zara for this sort of style. Cool but without being too grown up. I dress my dd in a lot of their stuff. We love the oversized sweaters!

VitalsStable · 17/11/2021 18:55

Mango, Arket & Zara are my DDs fave places to shop. Distinct lack of unicorns thank feck.

Thank you everyone going to make a list and look through each site!
